Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Beal could probably recoup the $10-15 million a year signing with another team, so I could see him giving up to $20 million if he really decides leaving is for the best. More than that is probably a pipe dream.

Bird rights are for re-signing a free agent, not for matching an offer sheet for an RFA. As far as I know, you can always match an RFA sheet—that’s the whole point of restricted free agency.

The question you have to ask for the suns(not factoring in Beal’s willingness) is at one point does it become worth it to us?
He has to give up 30 million to get out of the 2nd apron without stretching the deal, so I think that’s a no brainer if he’s willing to do that. Is it worth it if he gives up 20? That gets you into range where if you can dump Royce+Richards into space you can get under the 2nd apron. You’ve gotta make sure you have those moves lined up though.
If you are planning to stretch the deal, is getting out of the aprons and adding the TPMLE worth having Beal on your books for 3 extra years at 18-19 million a year? That’s him taking up about 10% of the salary cap and you get to add a FA, can aggregate, use cash, unfreeze your draft pick, S&T…and of course save Ishbia a lot of money.
My personal opinion on the waive and stretch is I don’t like it, but if he’s willing to give up 30 million and grant us access to the full MLE, it might be worth it. Assuming we can get someone like Yabusele with it. I still think I’d just waive and save. Eat the costs over two years and be free in 27-28.
We’ll see what happens.

Well you couldn’t always…it’s how Gilbert Arenas got stolen. They did add a rule that said the 1st year salary for someone after year 1 or 2 could only be up to the MLE…this played into Reaves contract with the Lakers.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 3:38 pmBird rights are for re-signing a free agent, not for matching an offer sheet for an RFA. Lakers could only offer up to the MLE as they only had early bird rights. Other teams could also only offer the MLE for that 1st year, but could make raises later…I’m just not sure how that works for us where we don’t even have early bird rights…but maybe we can match. Not that it will be a problem, I don’t think he’s getting more than the min.

Saw the jazz wanted to move Jordan Clarkson (expiring)… maybe we send them Grayson Allen? Would help balance out the roster a little better. Get them to throw a pick in too.

So are we on board with a CP3 reunion? Maluach would benefit a bunch. Maybe Booker would get his fire back.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Hard not to be on board…does it move Green to the bench? Or is CP3 off the bench? He started 82 games last year.
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
I'm definitely on board. I think we can all agree we'd have been better off never making the Beal deal.AmareIsGod wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 9:55 pmSo are we on board with a CP3 reunion? Maluach would benefit a bunch. Maybe Booker would get his fire back.

Every night? He didn't even play half of the games. He was 14th on the roster in total minutes played.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:58 pmHallelujah!
Most people blame KD and Beal for the malaise of this team over the past two seasons, and that's mostly fair. But this guy was a prime example nearly every damn night and it drove me crazy how many fans wanted a bigger role handed to him.
Nice guy, not a nice NBA player.
Don't get me wrong, I think he sucks. But if Bol Bol can hurt your team culture, it was shit to begin with.

I don’t have any feelings about Bol…he was fun at times and flashed some potential, but I think it’s clear he’ll never be a reliable nba rotation player.
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
I thought he was a net positive for us. It wasn't about his individual numbers, but the bench played well with him on the court. It was frustrating to see him drop out of the rotation.

Nothing there Split

Not sure why shams kept deleting it, but it’s back
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Woo hoo re: Gillespie. That's great news. He had such a strong end to last season; I think he can do well with some job security and an expanded role.

Bye bye Cody (as expected):
