I just do not believe that the Suns will crush 20m+ in cap space for 5 years to stretch Beal. I think he returns.
Yeah, I'd like to hear more about what Gambo is saying. Didn't he go from saying Beal was gone to retracting that and now Shel is saying that he's saying he's gone again. Gambo does seem to have his finger on the pulse of the organization so I tend to believe him. Just don't know how it happens with all these rules and restrictions and with Beal wanting to stay.
I too feel like we're "stuck" with him and will just have to make the best out of it. If Beal can stay healthy at all (which he hasn't shown), he could be valuable off the bench.
I'm just going by what Gambo's been saying. He's been pretty adamant Beal won't be with the team.
I wonder if we kicked the tires on a Beal-Dame swap.
Gambo usually has pretty good information, so I don't doubt him as a source. But I just don't know why he is speaking about Beal with such certainty. We can't just trade him; he has the no-trade clause and has to give consent, and it's not clear whether he will do so. And buying him out has its own issues and isn't a clear win for us. I don't think the situation is as clear and certain as he makes it out to be. We shall see.
I agree on Fleming not starting, but I think the rooks will play. For instance, I don’t think Richards/oso will be ahead of Maluach on the depth chart. I also don’t think NHD left the best team in Europe to be a development piece…I think he’s in the rotation for sure.
Let them earn minutes/starting spot. We've seen what happen when they get that without effort/accountability (see Marquese Chriss, Josh Jackson, ...)
At this point a waive and stretch of Beal isn't happening. If they were going to do that they would've done it prior to all these free agents getting signed so they could make moves.
It's either going to be a trade, a buy out or nothing at all.
Can Jalen Green really be any worse of a passer than KD was here? Maybe I'm being too optimistic.
It's funny: the talk in Houston is how they'll have more/better ball movement now that Jalen is gone. They're in for a rude awakening once they catch KD's act...
I think the Suns probably told NHD that he'll have an opportunity to start.
Boston has apparently been after him for years, and Joe Mazzulla was at a Fenerbahce game a few weeks ago:
Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla and members of the team's front office were in Türkiye to take in the Turkish League semifinal matchup between Fenerbahce and Bahcesehir. Of particular interest to the Celtics seems to be forward Nigel Hayes-Davis of Fenerbahce.
...
Boston has had previous interest in bringing the 30-year-old forward back to the NBA. In previous years, the Celtics were unable to offer Hayes-Davis a big enough role. Next season, Boston's roster looks to be in transition, which could open up rotation spots.

Ya I mean I definitely wouldn’t gift anyone a starting spot and they need to have some level of readiness, but I think they need minutes to develop. I’m not sticking Maluach on the bench because Richards is a little bit better.
Do we think Ott has final say on minutes and rotations or will there be "alignment" with the FO where he's told to play Maluach regardless of whether he's ready or not.
