OK, this thread has been unlocked. Let's agree to discuss DA here and not elsewhere.
Re: All Things Ayton
Yes, thank you. I can already guess you’re gonna get flak from people for having his name stickied to the top of the forum, though.

Lol, it’s not me, I’m sick and tired of having Ayton thrown in my face every time I critique a Suns center or Devin Booker. Do you realize how annoying that is to me? So I’m all for containing Ayton to this one thread!specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 6:37 pmExactly. It travels from thread to thread. He can't help himself. Any center the Suns acquire is trashed on as is Booker and he ultimately ends up in the conversation.TOO wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 5:17 pmKeep acting like that dude doesn't end up derailing every single thread on this board. Keep them blinders on.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 5:12 pmThat's fine. You do not need to talk about him; nobody is asking or forcing you to. I am willing to moderate or block things if they are super problematic to the health of the board (such as closing the Politics section), but outside of rare cases like that, I really don't want to ban topics or tell people what they are or aren't allowed to talk about. You don't like a topic, go to another thread or start another topic. I'm sure we're capable of handling that.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 4:50 pmI'd rather talk politics than about this sad sack of shit former #1 pick
Unlock All About Ayton and ban his name in the rest of the threads
By the way, I’ve had nothing but good things to say about Nick Richards.

I probably won't keep "All Things Ayton" stickied forever. I just wanted it to be easy to find for a while until people calm down.

I would hope not! Otherwise, we'll have to change the website to Ayton.net and most of us (

I decided to check http://ayton.net/ , and it is already taken. Not for DA, but for some painter and artist named William T Ayton. It says he's a visiting artist at ASU! Small world.
Re: All Things Ayton
What about aytonsucks.net?
Re: All Things Ayton
Probably a bit of masturbayton'.
Re: All Things Ayton
He's obviously not on their radar now, but the Knicks also did some background work on Deandre Ayton. Some decision makers viewed Ayton as a good fit next to Karl-Anthony Towns. Part of their background work included talking to the Trail Blazers about Ayton. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Blazers gave good feedback on Ayton to teams that called on him, which runs contrary to recent reports painting Ayton in a negative light. The Knicks received similar positive feedback from Portland about Ayton’s leadership with some of the younger Blazers.

Re: All Things Ayton
Ayton might work out for the Lakers. He will be on a talented team with several good playmakers and good defenders, so Ayton won't be relied upon to anchor an offense or to cover for poor defensive teammates. In the right circumstances, Ayton can still be an effective piece if he wants to be. Sometimes guys just need some years to figure things out, or to find the right opportunity or team. Stranger things have happened.
But would I bet my life savings on Ayton getting motivated and having a big impact? No thank you. My guess is that it'll be more of the same; he'll have some good performances and show flashes, but he ultimately won't try hard enough or play smart enough to be Dominayton up to his potential.
I would still probably rather have DA than Mark Williams, given that DA will probably be able to stay healthy and play a full season. Williams is likely to miss 1/2 of the season or more each year.

Ayton will look good finishing lobs from Luka, every C does. He made Lively and Gafford look great. Keeping him engaged will the be problem, it's always been the problem.

Re: All Things Ayton
My hope is he goes out and drops 18/12 this year in a contract year and forces the LakeShow to give him a max deal. That would be absolutely the best thing he would have done for us as our #1 draft pick
Re: All Things Ayton
We can only hope he shows up all season to earn himself a nice big contract from the Lakers. I would love to see LA wreck their cap situation with him.
