What do you think the suns do next after Beal is bought out?
Re: What do you think the suns do next after Beal is bought out?
Another day has come and passed and Bradley Beal is still a member of YOUR Phoenix Suns.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I think this is exactly what the hold up is. He is probably looking for a 2-3 year deal with a NTC as he won't want to uproot his family again. If he can't get that I think there's a chance he just sits pat and doesn't agree to the buyout. Conversely does he just accept the buy out and walk away from the game? If those are the decisions he's mulling over you can perhaps understand why it's taking so long to reach a conclusion.

Re: What do you think the suns do next after Beal is bought out?
I gave him the benefit of doubt so often, but this guy truly sucks.
There was a time when I was sympathetic to his side pertaining to the challenges that come with being traded. But it's completely obvious that he does not give a single fuck about competing at a high level or playing for a "contender". His family (whatever that exactly means) will come first second and third to him before being an NBA player. It's impossible to win big with that kind of mentality on the team, and even more so when he's expected to have an important role.
Want to be a "family man"? Cool, fucking retire already. You seem smart enough to have not blown all that money and are set up for generational wealth.
Otherwise, the hardships of being an NBA player is what the $50M+ in annual salary is for, you ungrateful schmuck.
(Sorry for the profanity. I'm trying to tone it down.)

I'm sympathetic to people's frustrations with Beal but those should really be levied on a short sighted FO that traded for a player with a NTC in the first place.

Re: What do you think the suns do next after Beal is bought out?
I don't disagree and wouldn't be surprised in the least if retirement is the path he ultimately chooses. He's made his money, is injury prone and doesn't want to bounce around the league for the next few years so it seems like the obvious choice. Coming to terms with that when you've committed a large amount of your life to basketball is less straight forward.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 11:14 pmI gave him the benefit of doubt so often, but this guy truly sucks.

I almost forgot...
Josh Bartelstein should've been fired months ago. Instead they pushed out the only guy in the organization with credibility among players.

Ishbia’s front office “restructuring” was insane. I lost so much respect for him this summer.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 11:25 pmI almost forgot...

Just for clarification sake, he’s not eligible for a NTC with a new team. You have to meet pretty specific guidelines to be eligible for one.SunsSince92 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 10:55 pmI think this is exactly what the hold up is. I think the whole purpose of the forum is to vent sometimes…. I’ve seen the same people bitching about the complaining, also complaining too. Psychologically, it’s ok as long as we don’t stew and all fester on it… nobody wants to listen to that 24/7, and sometimes some of us may have personal stuff that weighs on us that we don’t know about.
I 100% agree with bazz’s assessment and feel the same way, and hopefully in time things will work out. I try to focus less on the negative, however sometimes it will froth up when things aren’t going so well, but overall I’m getting more excited about Ott and the rooks.

Negativity is fine, just don't post the same thing over and over again. How many times can reword you hate a trade or man I wish the FO didn't do this blah blah blah.

Eight years in the NBA and four years with the team.Superbone wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 12:16 pmYeah, what are these guidelines?
