Is it an overpay? Ya probably..but only because the guys better than him are also capped at the same amount. It’s just the going rate for a franchise player…whether they are the best player in the nba or the 15th.

He was always going to get it, so I don’t find a ton of value in debating whether he was worth it or not…to me it comes down to are you planning on keeping him or moving him…if you are keeping him, you pay him.

look at OKC, three max guys now SGA, Jalen, and chet...thats not going to age well unless the cap goes up significantly, they should be prime for a lot of sign and trades over the next few years
