That is a nice representation. The only complaint I have is that the Butler and Goodwin contracts are not guaranteed (except for $25K for Goodwin), and reports say only one of them will be on the final roster. I would like to have seen if cutting on or the other would result in being below the tax. Someone here may already know.

Cutting Goodwin would leave us about $7,000 below the luxury tax…cutting Butler leaves us $20,000 over the tax.

Suns just let perfect center addition pack his bags for Europe https://share.google/ZQQHQcNYpOxsqfaZO

How does this pass for Suns coverage? Trash.

It’s also possible that the offer changed as it went along…seems a bit counterintuitive, but even though the trade down isn’t as far, New Orleans gets more and more desperate as the picks go by as the chances Queen gets snatched goes up…I think it’s possible New Orleans eventually removed protections on the pick to make sure they got their guy and that’s why Atlanta said yes.

Also there’s that Rich Paul/Mat Ishbia phone call…you can’t exactly get an agent to have your guy drop to you and then trade out of the pick.

The point of taking the guy know you want this year versus hoping for a guy you want next year I get, but man, next year's draft, especially up top is so much better. Would have been nice to have something like that to look forward to, especially if you were gonna trade for Mark Williams. I get the thinking, seems like the safe option. We shall see where that pels pick lands.

Hmmm
Props to Gerald for getting this answered. I don't like second guessing Suns management, but it will be interesting to see how it would have played out if they had taken the deal. Was this BG's Haliburton moment? Let the hindsight and second guessing begin!

Yeah, Valley of the Suns is getting into the clip bait game big time:

Clippers steal another player from the Suns ahead of next season
Not again.

It's all connected to the same lawyer.

:o That's not hindsight or second guessing. You can do better!

I'm not understanding your vehement response. Maybe my meaning didn't come through. *I'm* not going to second guess. That's not me. But the pattern on sports message boards is to nitpick every decision and criticize it in hindsight if it doesn't work out. Someone is going to do that. We still get people bringing up Joe Johnson from 18,000 years ago. I'm just poking at that!

Right? He's like the locker-room lawyer trying to dig up and spread rumors, just giddy to hear the most juicy gossip.

He got a bunch of pub for the Sarver thing, just trying to drill the same hole. It's weird because every person is connected to the same lawyer, which is probably his source.
