I hope they max him and he reverts to his self.
Re: All Things Ayton
I'm sure he's great as a 4th option behind Luka, LeBron, and Reaves where he can grab boards and shoot middys because no one's paying attention to him. He didn't want that role here and went to Portland where they paid him to go away.
On a more positive note, Mark Williams looks good and you can tell Book really likes playing with him.

I crack up every time I watch a lakers game and how soft he still is... His lack of physicality will always be an issue. So many times, he was within 2 feet of the basket and decides to do a layup when he could have just gone up with force and dunked it.
Re: All Things Ayton
So was Portland the problem too?

The problem is everybody and everything but Ayton himself.BKinSJC wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 10:24 pmYes. Also, although he never played for the Pacers, Indiana was also the problem.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:50 pmSo was Portland the problem too?Furlanfufi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 5:06 pmI hope they max him and he reverts to his self.Spoiler: show/hide

I'm not sure if he's taking a shot at AD or he's just clueless. YOU make the call!

It's a stupid thing and ignorant for DA to say. Takes an unnecessary shot at Anthony Davis and other Laker bigs, when actually it would be a miracle for DA to ever turn out as good as AD, a man who co-led the Lakers to a title.

On the Lakers subreddit, they said that Davis was more PF so it's okay what Ayton said.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Re: All Things Ayton
I'm going to give DA the benefit of the doubt in kind of a backhanded compliment way. He kinda just talks without thinking or having any awareness and he doesn't seem like the type to take shots at guys. So yea, I think when he said "big", he meant a C and AD has always been more of a PF even tho he plays C. He sees himself as a true 5 where as guys like AD and KAT are perimeter bigs/4s.
