Merry Christmas! / Xmas Day 2025 NBA action

Post by Mori Chu »

Hi all, I wanted to make this thread today to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! What are you and yours doing today? We're just here in Seattle waiting for the kids to get up; looks like Santa brought a whole bunch of presents under the tree. We'll open gifts here at my house this morning, and later in the day we'll go to the cousins' for playing and hanging out with their crew. Then tomorrow 12/26 we're off to Tucson to see my side of the family and get even more gifts and excess. What are y'all doing on your holiday?

Also we can use this thread to discuss today's NBA games. No Suns, but there are some good matchups. Here's what's on (in Eastern time, sorry):
12:00 pm Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks: ABC, ESPN, Disney+, ESPN Unlimited
2:30 pm San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder: ABC, ESPN, ESPN Unlimited
5:00 pm Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors: ABC, ESPN, ESPN Unlimited
8:00 pm Houston Rockets vs Los Angeles Lakers: ABC, ESPN, ESPN Unlimited
10:30 pm Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets: ABC, ESPN, ESPN Unlimited
Myself, I am most looking forward to the Spurs/OKC and Wolves/Nuggets games. Spurs seem to really have OKC's number this year and beat them just a few days ago. If they beat them again today, OKC would be something like 2-4 in their past 6 games after previously going 24-1 to start the season, which is just wild. So much for 73 wins!

Merry Christmas all! My sons, my mom and her SO, and I went down to Tucson Christmas Eve Eve to see my cousins. My sons saw some cousins on the other side of the family yesterday and I stopped by and had a nice visit. Heading over in a bit with my sons to my mom's to celebrate Christmas. Probably won't check out any games until later in the night after I get home if at all. Suns tomorrow (and Saturday) though in New Orleans.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Merry Christmas everybody! My wife and I are hanging out with my son at home most of the day. My kids are with their in-laws this year, so pretty quiet around here. We had everyone here for Thanksgiving though. We are going to my daughters later to see a bunch of the grandkids.

Merry Xmas .net

Yes quiet time here for me also. My sis asked me earlier about today's slate and I did tell her Spurs v Thunder is probably the game she should peep at.

I knew Spurs has had OKC number

This just shocked me though
#2 seed ?
Wemby's been injured and playing limited minutes, I haven't noticed Fox playing at any crazy level euther but it was inevitable the rise would happen so One of the Evil Empires are seemingly truly back
Sigh smh

Quiet here too. My kids are with their mom and my girlfriend is back in L.A. so it's just me and my mom this week. I've been to 4 movies in the last 6 days (I have the AMC membership.) I'm quite bored. I might go to one of the next two games against the Pelicans but I haven't decided. Anywho... Merry Christmas to my fellow dot netters. I know I'm not around as much as I once was, but rest assured I still read all your nonsense. ;)
Go Suns!

Same here, just me and my wife chilling together. It's actually kind of nice being able to relax for once. As far as BB if the Suns aren't playing then I don't care.

This. Even if the Suns are playing I barely care right now. The game is not in a good state.

Getting together with my kids later in the day for dinner and some time together, so I'm really looking forward to that. I'm watching the Cavs/Knicks game right now, which has been really back and forth. I'm not a huge fan of the ESPN coverage overall.

Merry Christmas to the .net family! It's been a pleasure and joy getting to know all of you over the years and wish nothing but the best for all of you.

It's been a great Christmas with my wife, boys and in-laws.... Even picked up some new Suns swag :)

LOL, OKC lost to the Spurs -again-. I love that this particular team has their number; Spurs have beaten them 3 times in a row now. We need some rivalry and not a preordained repeat champion team that also has 17 draft picks in the next 4 years.

Rockets currently spanking the Lakers. You love to see it.

Man, the Nuggets / Wolves game turned into a real barn-burner. Nuggets had been ahead for much of the game but the Wolves came back and tied it at the end on some heroic Ant 3s, forcing OT. Then the Wolves got up by 9-10 points in OT and it seemed over. But the Nuggies came roaring back, Joker and Murray hit some clutch 3s, and suddenly Denver stole the game back. Ant got ejected for jawing at Jokic. Jokic ends up with an absolutely insane stat line of 56 points, 16 rebounds, 15 assists; just completely bonkers. Really fun game.
