Redd is a bit of a reach, since it's a "misspelling"

I saw that somebody mentioned Jalen Rose, guessing that would be the fifth...
A fun team to watch again. A trade or two away from being a serious contender...

There was also Horacio Llamas Grey, but "grey" is more of the old British spelling. If this were Jeopardy! I probably would have accepted it however! ;)

OK, here's some old Suns trivia.

These two guards both played with Phoenix, but at different times.
However, they formed an impressive college backcourt tandem in the early 1970s.

All I can think of is Mo Layton [1969-71] and Paul Westphal [1969-72] at USC

You beat me to it by a minute!

Ron Riley, who was a forward with the two of them also played 4 years in the NBA with Kansas City-Omaha and Houston. Gus Williams got to USC the year after Westphal left.

DING, DING, DING.

It was indeed Westy and Mo.

Layton also played JC ball at Phoenix College, on a team that went deep into the JC nationals.
One of the teams they beat was Gardner-Webb College (later a four-year school) which had Artis Gilmore at center.

Westphal was recruited by John Wooden for UCLA in between the and Bill Walton, but being the contrarian he was, he chose USC so he could play against UCLA.

Just imagine that undefeated, National Champion 1971-72 team [Walton, Jamaal Wilkes, Henry Bibby, Swen Nater] with a senior All-American Westphal added to it....

As mentioned in a previous thread, both Royce and Collin are on pace to set the suns single season 3pt shots made record. Can you name the 5 highest seasons for 3s made?

Seasons for most 3s made by the Suns? I'd go with the most recent seasons given the nature of the league. 04-05 and 05-06 may be mixed in there as well. For the league? I think the Celtics may have made the most 3s a few seasons ago.

The Knicks broadcast had a good trivia question, might be easy for Suns fans - CG is on pace to break the Suns record for 3pt shots made in a season. Which former Suns and Knicks player holds the record?

Shoot, didn’t know the Knicks broadcast gave away the answer haha…but yes Shel you are right on number 1…there is surprisingly only 1 season from recent years in the suns top 5 though.

The other 4 after Q-Rich are

2(tie). Grayson Allen and Raja Bell
4. Gerald Green
5. Dan Majerle

Kinda crazy we still have a player from the 90s with one of the most 3s made in a season.

I thought I remembered Grayson being in the mix last year. I wouldn't have guessed Green or Raja tho, didn't seem like they hit so many 3s for us those years. I thought Wes Person might've been up there.

If Steve Nash had chosen to shoot more, he would be way up there in 3s made for a season. The restraint he showed by being such a pass-first PG despite having an absolutely nasty 3-point shot is rare.
