All Things Ayton
Re: All Things Ayton
I bet Sabonis is the other one…Jokic, Wilt, Sabonis and now Nurk
Re: All Things Ayton
Personally I wish he’d just come back and own it… Outside his ayton antics he was good to have around.
However if he thought the suns fans were savages to poor old ayton, I can’t imagine how he’s doing in the lakers forums.

Re: All Things Ayton
Wilt had triple-double streaks of 5, 3, 4 and 9 games in 1967-68 (he lead the league in assists that year and averaged 24.3p/23.8r/8.6a). He may have had more triple-doubles, but they didn't track blocks until 1973-74, the year after he retired. (for example, in a 158-128 win over the Lakers in 1968, Chamberlain had 53 points, 32 rebounds, 24 blocks, 14 assists and 11 steals. They weren't official stats, but they were tracked by long-time Philadelphia Warriors/76ers historian Harvey Pollack)

Here's a question for you - which Suns player once had a 47-point, 18-rebound, 12-assist game?

Re: All Things Ayton
Yes, Domantas Sabonis was the other.
Also, remember how Denver had a 21-year-old Nurk and a 20-year-old Jokic as their centers?

Feels like it’s gotta be an older guy. Adams? Kidd could’ve gotten the 18/12, but I doubt he ever scored 47 in a game. Barkley probably had some 47/18 games, but not with 12 assists. The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:02 pmHere's a question for you - which Suns player once had a 47-point, 18-rebound, 12-assist game?

That has to be the single most impressive stat line in NBA history! The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:00 pmWilt had triple-double streaks of 5, 3, 4 and 9 games in 1967-68 (he lead the league in assists that year and averaged 24.3p/23.8r/8.6a). I was thinking those were Barkley numbers and I wouldn't count out him having a big assist day. Adams is a good guess though too.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:13 pmFeels like it’s gotta be an older guy. Adams? Kidd could’ve gotten the 18/12, but I doubt he ever scored 47 in a game. Re: All Things Ayton
There’s a game score stat that tries to turn all the box score stats into a single number. The highest single game game score number is 64.6 by Michael Jordan in a 69/18/6/4 game. I do think game score tends to weight points over other stats though and especially efficient points. I also don’t think it tracks most of Wilt’s games because of the aforementioned lack of blocks/steals before 73-74.Superbone wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:15 pmThat has to be the single most impressive stat line in NBA history! The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:00 pmWilt had triple-double streaks of 5, 3, 4 and 9 games in 1967-68 (he lead the league in assists that year and averaged 24.3p/23.8r/8.6a). Yeah, no way that competes with Wilt's. I'd be curious to know what Wilt's number comes out to if you feed his stats into that formula.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:20 pmThere’s a game score stat that tries to turn all the box score stats into a single number. Re: All Things Ayton
Our very own Devin Booker has the 13th highest(was 5th highest at the time) game score during his 70 point game. Kinda crazy we’ve seen 8 individual games score higher in the 9 years since Booker dropped 70. It’s the scoring/3pt revolution.
Re: All Things Ayton
Also kinda funny that Nurkic was a -30 and -21 in the last two triple doubles. He was +8 in the first one though.

Yep, it was Adams his second year against Buffalo. He also had 5 blocks that game.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:13 pmFeels like it’s gotta be an older guy. Adams? Paul Westphal used to tell a stories about how much Adams would eat. They were roommates on the road and the night before that game in Buffalo Adams supposedly ate four dozen Buffalo wings.

Re: All Things Ayton
He's played pretty well offensively this year, but on defense, he's still the same ol' Nurk.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Matrix had a 47/18 game…I don’t think he ever had double digit assists though.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:31 pmIt also sounds like a matrix career game to me.Superbone wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:17 pmI was thinking those were Barkley numbers and I wouldn't count out him having a big assist day.
