Every Inside guy has Booker as an all-star reserve. Chuck has Brooks too.

Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

He may have a reputation and some headscratching antics on the court once in a while but I can see why all the fanbases love him. And I’ve grown to love him.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

Well, obviously Shel doesn't miss a beat and had these in the game day thread but I agree with the sentiment.

Dillon Brooks, Suns out-scrap Pistons to post best win of the season
by Doug Haller
PHOENIX — Dillon Brooks doesn’t have harsh words only for officials and opposing players. In Thursday night’s 114-96 home win over the Detroit Pistons, he unleashed a few on Phoenix Suns coach Jordan Ott.

“He told me I sucked in so many words,’’ Ott said of the third-quarter conversation at Mortgage Matchup Center, adding that Brooks had wanted him to run actions that would have placed a smaller player on the 6-foot-6 Phoenix forward.

Through 48 games, the Suns (29-19) have had two players score 40-plus points. Amazingly, Devin Booker is not one. In November, Grayson Allen had 42 against the New Orleans Pelicans. And Thursday night, Brooks put up a career-high 40 against the Pistons.

“Dillon was working (Wednesday) night,’’ Ott said. “In the gym he was working with his guys. I trust whatever he’s saying to me. I trust that it’s coming from a good place. No matter the emotion. We can filter that out. But he was right and I was wrong.”

Said Brooks: “There’s no right or wrong when it comes to your teammates or your coaches. You’re just communicating what you see. Sometimes on the floor you see something different. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But you learn from each other.”

Phoenix’s win over the Pistons was arguably its biggest of the season, mainly because it unfolded with Booker (right ankle sprain) and explosive guard Jalen Green (right hamstring injury management) watching in street clothes. Brooks was the star, but Phoenix’s grit and determination made the difference.

“Big time,” forward Royce O’Neale said. “Especially since we’re trying to get wins with guys out.”

I think there’s a shot Brooks makes the all star team. Will have to have 8 international guys. 5 already have made it:

Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Luka, and Giannis(will be replaced though).

Gotta assume Jamal Murray, Deni Avdija, and Alperen Sengun are probably ahead of Brooks. Decent chance Brooks is the Giannis replacement though. Who else could it be?

Lauri? Good season on a bad team. Shouldn’t make it
Rudy? Good season, good team. Meh
KAT? Is he international or US?

Am I missing someone obvious? Sabonis has missed too much time.

I thought Jokic wouldn't be playing but it looks like he's returning just in time.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Great article by Kellan Olson. Tons of awesome videos in the breakdowns. Oso reminds me so much of a much more physical and athletic Boris Diaw.
How Dillon Brooks pestered Suns’ Oso Ighodaro into a breakout year
https://arizonasports.com/nba/phoenix-s ... 2/3610024/

Dillon Brooks was thrilled, Oso Ighodaro was furious and the moment their Phoenix Suns teammates knew was coming had finally arrived.

OK. While they knew it was coming, they didn’t know it would be that bad.

At first, Ighodaro couldn’t recall six weeks later the exact play that lit the flame, but an eavesdropping Collin Gillespie from the other side of the locker room chimed in that he did.

Ya I thought the same thing until they announced today he was coming back…guess he could still opt out

Embiid on reputation alone. He's had a pretty good 27 games.

Josh Giddey is also averaging 19/9/9 for the 10th place Bulls

Not sure if Embiid can be considered international given that he chose to play for the US national team? Franz Wagner is also one strong contender.

Sorry been quite busy and haven’t had a chance to watch the Pistons game so I didn’t click into the game day thread. How about this one?

Franz is at like 26 games. That’s not enough for me unless he was awesome and he’s just been good. Giddey is more possible, but also has only played 34 games. Embiid has limited games and also like others mentioned, I’m not sure he should be on the international team, but he probably should be.

Livers is a terrible ball handler.

I don't think Dillon makes it as an All-Star, but he's having a spectacular season, no doubt. The fact that we are even talking about him as an All-Star shows he's having a season way beyond what most anybody would have predicted. Basically been our 2nd best player all season and provided a bunch of scoring, defense, hustle, and toughness. Real team culture changer. You can just feel this year's Suns team is built different and has brass balls, doesn't ever give up, and I think Dillon is one of the biggest reasons for that. I have been one of the biggest Brooks doubters but I have come to really appreciate what he brings to us despite myself.
