It's an impressive accomplishment, but I hadn't watched that game and didn't realize what the Heat did to try to force the outcome. All the intentional fouling and so on. Bleh. Kind of a mockery of the game of basketball.
I mean, we did that for Booker so he could score 70. It's a part of all big records like this. Maybe they went a bit further than we did but it gets a shrug from me.
They definitely started earlier than we did(we intentionally fouled twice) and their game was much more decided. Miami was up 25 points most of the 4th…we got the game within 10.

My recollection of Kobe's 81-point game is that the Lakers actually needed most of those 81 points to win. Is that right? Google says that the Lakers trailed by 14 at the half and that Kobe scored 55 points in the 2nd half to get the win. Lakers end up winning 122-104 so I guess Kobe probably could have stopped ~ 10 points sooner, but I don't remember it being as egregious as this Bam record is.
