Interesting choice of words for Giannis

No brainer if it doesn't strip the team down. Not giving up Kham, Oso and Fleming in a package. They can have Green, Royce/Grayson and one of the young bigs. plus our 16th.

Re: Suns News: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
I would love to roll out a super-massive lineup of Giannis, Maluach, and Brooks. An awful lot of nasty, Gillespie and Booker on the perimeter.

Green/Grayson/Royce/a re-signed Mark Williams at $15 million per year and some draft filler works perfectly salary wise if it's Giannis and Kuzma coming back. Not saying I would do it, but would be tempting. Kuzma is almost a negative asset at this point, but it would certainly help balance the team out. A front court of Man Man, Giannis and Fleming could be terrifying.

Let me rephrase. I don’t want Giannis for any price that may be remotely reasonable in the modern NBA landscape. He’s a superstar, absolutely. But he’s physically on the downside of his peak and his game does not really age well. And his personality leaves a lot to be desired. And while he absolutely plays hard on the court, his inability / unwillingness to change his game to better accommodate Dame makes me think that he will be a massive locker room problem. I’d rather just keep growing the youth on the team and establish an identity and win organically. Or keep reliving this year in a future form until we are out from under the draft pick nightmare and Beal sized dent on our books.

No to Kuz and you can't re-sign Mark and include him in a trade with other players IINM.BigLewy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 5:18 amGreen/Grayson/Royce/a re-signed Mark Williams at $15 million per year and some draft filler works perfectly salary wise if it's Giannis and Kuzma coming back. If Book were 26, I'd agree. But the fact is, he's getting older and we can't wait 2-3 years for Fleming and Maluach to maybe work out. I want him to retire a Sun but I wouldn't want a bad breakup either where he's frustrated with not winning or is just here thru his 30s while the team is mid and fans turn on him (which some already are). I don't want to get into that same spot we were in with KD and Beal where it was this 2-3 year window or bust and I don't want to mortgage the future just for Book. But I think if we're smart about it, we should take the shot if we think Giannis is a better fit while also keeping most of the young guys and depth we have.pickle wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 5:21 amLet me rephrase. I am a fan of Book, but I don’t see us winning a championship with him unless he’s 35 and the 3rd “star” on a contender as we nail late pick after late pick and pull off some PG13 for SGA and six picks type deals. And if none of that happens, I’m at peace with it.
With respect to Booker, I wanted to trade him and KD two summers ago, but honestly this past year I’ve seen how I undervalued his gravity on the court and to this team. That said, I’d still trade him in a heartbeat if we are wowed with an incredible offer. Because he’s been such a franchise icon I’d give him the chance to say no, but I’m not gonna keep him at all costs.
And if we were to keep him, I still don’t want to pair him with Giannis. I know the temptation to tinker and get better is great but I don’t want to take what we had this year for granted. I’d like to have a team that I can root for even if its ceiling is a first round sweep. Please don’t force me to root for another dislikable superstar personality again. Giannis pretending that he isn’t asking for a trade or that he’s not in control of his people or that he’s surprised by Doc leaving is just unbelievably disingenuous. The fact that he pretends that his unwillingness to commit to the Bucks did not contribute to that team being in such shitty state makes me not want him.
I’ll just keep rooting for Ott and his motley crew of relatively untalented (by NBA standards) players who give effort.

I doubt Giannis was actually alluding to playing in Phoenix with his tweet. And we don't really have the assets (namely, young studs and picks) needed to trade for him. But if Milwaukee actually talked to us about this, I would trade a decent amount of our assets for him. You guys are saying no on including Maluach, and while I like ManMan, I would include him if that's what it took. What I wouldn't do is include all our 1sts until 2038 or whatever. But that's also why Milwaukee wouldn't do it. There are plenty of other teams that actually have their picks and better assets than we have.

No I'm saying I'm not giving up all 3 young bigs in the deal. They can have one or two, but I'm not going into next season with Giannis, Dunn, Brooks and Mark Williams as our frontcourt rotation.

I'll fart in my own mouth if the Suns get Giannis.
Re: Suns News: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
Ew.
I'd take him like Marty said, if we didn't have to give up the farm. We're not doing the KD thing again. (Right, Mat? Right?!)
But why would Milwaukee agree to that? They're going to want the world. Dude is 31 and past his prime although still very good. But how long is that going to last?
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Re: Suns News: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
Giannis's slight dip in per game numbers is solely because of his decrease in minutes a game - his numbers per 36 minutes were right at his usual level. You can argue that his health problems this year are a concern, but this will be the first time in 7 years where he didn't finish in the top 5 of the MVP vote.
They're going to want a lot for him - the Suns would probably have to start with Booker, and they'd have to get some draft picks from somewhere to add to the deal. So it's highly unlikely.
If you could get him in a deal centered around Brooks and Green, I'd do that, but I don't think that's enough to get Milwaukee's attention, much less a deal.
