My wife and I just played through this fun indie game called "The Seance of Blake Manor." It's a 3D first-person game where you walk around a spooky mansion and look for clues to solve a case about a young woman who has gone missing, while a bunch of attendees prepare to attend a seance to speak to the dead. Look in lots of rooms for clues, talk to people, solve mysteries, see spooky ghosty things. Lot of fun if you like puzzling. Kind of a mix of several other games we liked, such as Return of the Obra Dinn, Blue Prince, teeny bit of Outer Wilds. Took us about 18-20 hours to beat.

Ha! If I was still working there that wouldn't happen. I kid. Not my area. Yes, the Show has bugs just like every other game. It would have been funny if the play by play said, "What in the Wild World of Sports is going on here?!" But Dan Clark does need to learn to control his anger. I have a buddy like that that has thrown and broke multiple controllers.

I'm betting they ARE Nintendo graphics. I know for a fact that the game looks much better than that on my PS5. I thought this was The Show 21 at first.

Going back over that video I'm questioning a lot of things.... the flags flying in the outfield do say "The Show 21", however the outfield banners say "MLB extra innings". Granted I know the latter is the show not the NES game, it just felt funny.

I thought I saw the flags say 21 too but then thought I was seeing things. We didn't have those commentators in 2021. We all know that baseball video games peaked with SNK Baseball Stars on NES, followed closely by Extra Innings on SNES. No further baseball video games are needed.
My wife and I have been playing through The Witness, a first-person puzzler from about a decade ago, made by Jonathan Blow, the guy who made Braid. It's been pretty fun. I didn't launch into this one sooner because basically the whole game is about walking around and doing "line puzzles" where you see a grid of squares and draw lines around the squares to solve various patterns and constraints. That's basically all the game is. The simplicity and single-mindedness of it turned me off in the past, but a friend strongly recommended it, so we decided to give it another look. And it's been fun! Yes, the game is mostly about solving line puzzles. But it has a lot of variations in the puzzles, needing various clues to find the answers (looking at shadows, tree branches, reflected light, and other things). And in the late game there are several deeper puzzles to figure out, including some puzzles that you didn't even know were puzzles, hidden artifacts in the level itself, and so on. So it can be really fun to try to sleuth it all out. We're about finished after about 30-35 hours of play and have enjoyed it.

Nice…. I just wrapped up assassins creed shadows… it was amazing and the world is impressive.
