Game Day (Playoffs Round 1, Game 3): Thunder (2-0) @ Suns (0-2), Sat 4/25/26

We're cooked. I don't understand any of the coaching decisions. Just gotta wait to see how things shake out in the offseason and what things, if any, come out after the season about the players/coach/lockerroom.

Yeah, too bad none of the three refs could see Book tumble to the court. Or maybe he just decided to take a dirt nap. FRICKIN' RIGGED!!!
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I don’t think there is any locker room problems. Think the roster construction just bad. Roster has too many 6’5” dudes and injuries were overwhelming. Thats the season

Don’t understand how Book’s 3pt shot regressed so much. Truly crazy.

Not that there would be lockerroom issues with players but maybe some grumblings about Ott and his decisions on the rotations/sub patterns and going small so much to end the season.

Fuck these refs. We've had to waste two goddamn challenges too.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

We have Highsmith and Fleming who are fully capable.Wally_West wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:11 pmI don’t think there is any locker room problems. Think the roster construction just bad. Roster has too many 6’5” dudes and injuries were overwhelming. Thats the season

I always looked at him as a midrange assassin like MJ and Kobe, who weren't great 3pt shooters either. They could make 3s but it wasn't their game. Same form and shot trajectory that doesn't really work moving further out to the 3pt line.Wally_West wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:13 pmDon’t understand how Book’s 3pt shot regressed so much. Feels like the game is slipping away from us as we near the end of the 3rd quarter. Giving up too many easy baskets to OKC, some dumb turnovers, taking too many tough shots and missing them. This is probably our best game as a team of the 3 so far, but we just can't keep up. OKC too good, plus the refs are starting to be back on their bullshit again, so I think we may be toast.

But he was a 3pt threat tho, like that was an aspect of his game. it’s completely gone now.ShelC wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:16 pmI always looked at him as a midrange assassin like MJ and Kobe, who weren't great 3pt shooters either. I would never call him a pure shooter. Great scorer, yes, but a streaky shooter from deep.Wally_West wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:13 pmDon’t understand how Book’s 3pt shot regressed so much. Truly crazy.

Part of the problem is what Gregory was left with and how there are more quality swing players (Goodwin, Highsmith, Bouyea, Coffey) as free agents than there are big men who can contribute. The big men they added in the draft last summer (Maluach and Fleming) are both good long-term prospects but nobody can argue that they're not thin up front, especially with Williams out.Wally_West wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:11 pmI don’t think there is any locker room problems. You can really feel how OKC's players have learned at an instinctive level how to pull up for a flailing shot, or flail and fall down, when they feel a small amount of contact, in order to bait a whistle.
