What we should do: trade Booker.

What we should do if we're unwilling to do that: Trade Allen and Royce for any assets we can get and get younger

What we will likely do: sign Draymond Green

For me the potential of Green outweighs his trade value. I'm not interested in dumping him just to dump him or sending him out for a mediocre aging talent like a Tobias Harris. I'd rather just keep him, he is a microwave and young and a good vibes guy. If they could package him and land a different cornerstone then OK but not interested otherwise.

I'd be open to trading Booker, but Ishbia would never unless Book himself asked out. Royce and Grayson are likely gone for some frontcourt help/picks.

I think Green would be best in the Manu Ginobili super 6th man role where he can just come in and be a microwave off the bench. At his age and his talent, he would never agree to it, but it's some wishful thinking.

There’s a part of me that’s sick and wants to see him and brooks share the court. My god could you imagine the fines we’ll be paying? Not to the league but for a team psychiatrist lol

I said in another post that we need to hit back. And while Brooks is an agitator, he's not an enforcer. We need an enforcer. I don't think Draymond is that either. He's another cheapshot artist who picks up dumb techs.

WE NEED SOME BOSSMAN!

Feels like we're stuck between a rock and hard place with Williams. We gave up two picks to get him, we don't have a viable replacement at the moment, and even tho he's restricted we still have to find a good number that works for both sides. He's maybe just above average as a starting center but you can't rely on him to stay on the court.

Allen was great to start the season but if he can't stay healthy, he's just another guy on the wrong side of 30 we may not be able to move later.
Allen isn't on either side of 30. He IS 30. But, much like Williams, he can't stay on the court so it doesn't matter how good he is. He played a tad over 60% of our games. And is that likely to get better or worse? Most likely worse as he progresses to the wrong side of 30.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I haven't heard a peep about Crowder all season long. Is he even still in the league?!

Allen will be 31 in October. That's close enough for me! I still value his offensive versatility but only in a more limited bench role.

Bossman's been out of the league I think a few seasons now. But we do need someone willing to lay a hit on another player every once in a while. Nothing dirty, but just more toughness.

It's just another tricky situation. You can't "take calls" and gauge value because once you cross that line, it's extremely hard to come back. You open that door, you gotta walk thru it. And if teams know both sides want a divorce, you may not get much in return. The days of "sweepstakes" and teams handing over young talent and picks are pretty much over. Even if we got the deal we wanted, Book may not want to play for that team. And Ishbia likely won't take back just picks and a few contracts because he doesn't want to lose or tank. Maybe there's a chance, like this year, you get the right mix of young guys and punch above your weight but you gotta thread that needle.

Miami? Some package around Herro and picks? Charlotte for someone like Brandon Miller?

Charlotte has Knueppel, they don't want a lesser player in Booker 😂

Allen, as Goodwin, was asked to play against bigger players night in and night out, and that takes its toll on anyone, no wonder he was perpetually hobbled for the second half of the season.

I’d love for him to stay here forever but I know this is a business and not to get too attached. Trading him has nothing really to do with disliking him or wanting him gone. It’s a matter of getting the team structured to compete for years to come and him being the biggest asset we have to do that. We can be fiscally responsible and grow a team. Last year impressed me with how well we were able to acquire talent and develop it…. Oso, Fleming and CG especially; heck even malauch is showing promise. If those players were outperforming because of booker elevating them, I’d be far more seeing a reason to keep him but he’s not Nash.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Does he ever get moved or is he a Sun for life? If I had to bet and from what I've seen so far and with his giant contract, I'd lean to him being our Steph Curry (but unfortunately, most likely barring a miracle without a championship).

My guess is:

Larry Fitzgerald:Cardinals::Devin Booker:Suns

You'd think we'd be introducing some new plays/wrinkles for the postseason. Lack of adjustments? Lack of creativity?
