Re: 2026 Offseason
I'm expecting exactly this. He's in the top 1% of BBIQ and it's clear that his work ethic is also in the top 1-10% based on the work he put in last summer. Why shouldn't we expect further strategic thinking and effort from someone who has already demonstrated both attributes?Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2026 7:20 amAs Kevin Garnett once shouted, anything is possible. But I really doubt we will ever see Oso learn to fluidly shoot jump shots at a high percentage. He would have to totally reconstruct his shooting form from the ground up. Such a thing has happened before, but it would take months, years of concentrated work. Very few players can and do undergo such a monumental effort to change a part of their game. If Oso wants to do that, he should have been in the gym starting yesterday.
Re: 2026 Offseason
Hard work and intelligence can only take a player as far as his talent will go. Some guys just don't have a talent for shooting.
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

If learning to shoot were that simple, Steph Curry wouldn't be special.
I've never ever seen someone with a completely broken form fundamentally change their mechanics and shoot a good percentage. Dunns potential? I think extremely unlikely as well but at LEAST his form is a good foundation. Oso shoots like he should be a member of the Office
Re: 2026 Offseason
We can't even seem to turn Devin Booker into a good 3-point shooter...

Yes, but you have to admit that your mom did look better when she got her bum hole bleached. At least, better from her best angle.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2026 1:32 pmYou can get all the Botox and fillers you want , you'll still be ugly.
Re: 2026 Offseason
Oso spent most of last summer bulking up, which was probably good so that he wouldn't be as undersized or get pushed around as much. That's probably the kind of improvement we can reasonably hope for from him. I could also see him practicing FTs until he was less of a liability there. But I doubt he'll ever be a good in-game shooter from distance. Rather than have him waste untold hours trying in vain to fix that, he can work on FTs and post moves and interior scoring outside of his floater. I think I'd be content with that from him rather than practicing 3-pointers.virtual9mm wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2026 9:16 amI'm expecting exactly this. Every good person deserves someone who will believe in them to the degree that you believe in Oso.virtual9mm wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2026 9:16 amI'm expecting exactly this. Respectfully, I think your analysis of him is wildly optimistic and borderline insane.

Keep in mind I was wildly off on Ayton. But I think this case is different.

Rocket Mortgage sues rival UWM for $100M
There's more detail about it after this but I wasn't sure if I could post more than a snippet here without getting in trouble and also it is behind a paywall.Detroit-based home lender Rocket Mortgage filed a lawsuit Thursday against local archrival United Wholesale Mortgage for alleged breach of contract.
The suit marks the latest escalation in a bitter personal and business feud between Rocket Companies Chairman Dan Gilbert and UWM CEO Mat Ishbia.
The filing from Rocket to the New York state Supreme Court seeks $100 million in damages from UWM for allegedly breaking an agreement with a mortgage servicing company called Mr. Cooper, which Rocket acquired in October 2025. Rocket said that UWM, which previously worked with the mortgage servicer, violated a contract with Mr. Cooper, doing business as Mr. Cooper Group Inc., by trying to siphon business away after its rival took over the company.
The complaint quotes past statements it said Ishbia made, including that he would "lose money just for fun” in efforts to raid Mr. Cooper's servicing portfolio and that he "f------ hates [Rocket] with all [his] heart.”

Re: 2026 Offseason
I've been thinking how to fix the roster and the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a Green for Zion swap. Even if Zion does not play, I think it would be addition by subtraction -- cap space and the end of micro-ball.
I also like the idea of signing Sochan and using Dunn as a minor trade chip. I like Dunn, I really do. But if Sochan is available for peanuts as a FA...

Re: 2026 Offseason
FWIW Zion makes $6m more than Jalen Green ($39m / yr vs $33m / yr) so we'd either take on salary or need to include other players to even it out. Both guys have 3-year deals so there's no savings or cost there.
