It's hard to imagine the Spurs losing any time in the next 12 years, but I think the Knicks are going to give the Spurs more trouble than most people expect. The Knicks are firing on all cylinders and that whole team is ready to step up and attack on both ends of the court.

Series could go either way. A lot of good matchups and storylines. The Knicks are the older, veteran team that's worked up to their spot in the league, the Spurs have ascended quickly. Knicks are rested, Spurs are coming off a 7 game series vs the Thunder. I think the Spurs can be more explosive with their perimeter players but the Knicks can be a bit more physical in their frontcourt. If MitchRob can play with his broken pinky, he gives the Knicks a big advantage. I do the Knicks had an easy path to the Finals but I also think they're playing extremely well on top of that. They haven't really been tested tho. A big question for me will be if the Spurs feel like they've already won something by beating the Thunder? Will they look past the Knicks a bit or have a letdown?

In the other Predictions thread I had OKC vs NYK as the Finals and picked OKC to win in 5. With SAS slotted in there, I still think the Western team wins. I would go with Spurs in 5 or 6. Squirt gun to my head, I would say Spurs in 6.

Game 1 is tonight! I think the Spurs win big here. The start of Wemby's coronation. Anybody here like the Knicks to win the game or series? If so, what's your thought process? If the Knicks are going to win, how do they do it? How do they slow down Wemby or outproduce him?

Spurs in 6. Anunoby will give Wemby some trouble, along with Towns and Big Robby.
Spurs have Bryant and Harper in addition to the rest of the backcourt to keep Brunson in check.
Kornet, Champagnie and K. Johnson will play complementary roles.

Altough the Knicks steamrolled the Cavs, Cleveland's bench was lacking, plus Harden and Mitchell are not known for defense (to be polite).
Spurs depth, youth and grit in surviving OKC wins out.

I am shocked! Wow! Big win for the Knicks on the road. Brunson was awesome, and KAT put in a surprisingly effective game. Josh Hart somehow had 15 rebounds??? Weird stats. It felt like the Spurs couldn't hit any 3s; box score says they were 11-43 or 26%. Spurs offense also felt a bit stuck in the mud, not making the pass for an easy shot, instead kind of forcing something from Wemby or their guards. They have some adjustments to make if they want to win Game 2.
