2026 NBA Playoffs - NBA Finals (Spurs vs Knicks)
Re: 2026 NBA Playoffs - NBA Finals (Spurs vs Knicks)
So, are the Spurs cooked? Is there any way they can come back from losing both of their home games like that?

Really happy for Mikal. Will be amazing if he gets a ring.

Anybody else recognize Wemby's last shot?

I was curious about this and found a reddit thread on it. No team has ever come back from losing the first 2 games at home in the Finals. Multiple teams have come back from 0-2, but only if the first 2 games were on the road for them. (Last occurrence: the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks. Oooooof)

Something ridiculous would have to happen in order for the Spurs to come back - like some epic Knicks meltdown or Wemby going God Mode.

I never would have guessed the Knicks would be up 2-0.

Nobody? It was the same shot he hit in San Antonio to beat us by one earlier this season.

I have Direct TV. Set it to record. It said NBA Finals. Go to watch it. Blacked out. No agreement. Same on next game. Went to the sports mix channel showing all the current sports on and one of the 8 screens was the finals playing complete with sound. Click on that and it goes to the blacked out channel. Was able to watch most of the game on the small pixelated screen. So annoying.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

DirectTV? You're living in the dark ages, my man. I know as I had it for 25+ years. Finally switched to YouTubeTV streaming after moving to Arizona. I watched a nice, high def ESPN broadcast on my HDTV. I'm set to record all available NBA games. I have been all season. Don't have to set up individual recordings.Nodack wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 9:10 pmI have Direct TV. Set it to record. It said NBA Finals. Go to watch it. Blacked out. No agreement. Same on next game. That and an OTA antenna and digital recorder for regular season Suns games and Jeopardy.

So happy to see Mikal getting recognition. IMO he's the best role player in the NBA, and still my favorite guy to root for.
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

Can't ask for a more entertaining finals than this.
Re: 2026 NBA Playoffs - NBA Finals (Spurs vs Knicks)
I am definitely rooting for the Spurs tonight because I think a sweep would be boring. But yeah every game has been great.
Re: 2026 NBA Playoffs - NBA Finals (Spurs vs Knicks)
Another very entertaining game. Wemby finally Wembyd,
Castle stepped up, as he has been doing. This playoffs has been a real eye-opener for the league. We knew Castle was good, but now he has solidified himself in my mind as he 2nd best player on the Spurs. All of his shooting #s are better than ever, and his defense has been very good.
On the Knicks side, Mikal had maybe his worst game of the playoffs on both sides of the floor (but was still +11). Shamet was also a big 0 for the Knicks. But worst of all was Mitch Robinson getting burned in his minutes. Seemed like the Spurs got anything they wanted at the basket for most of the night, and Robinson especially was a liability where he should be at his best.
One thing the Knicks did really well was encouraging the worst shooting Spurs to take jumpers. Devin Vassell was cooking early, then he didn't touch the ball again for a long time while Fox and Harper bricked 3 after 3. The Knicks are just so good at dictating opponents' offence, and the Spurs inexperience played into that as well. Ultimately, it didn't matter.
Did y'all notice the Spurs closed out the game with Fox-Castle-Harper-Vassell-Wemby? That's actually a smaller lineup than the Suns with one minor exception.
