Hooray! He is good. We had to keep him. I don't see any downside to this reasonable deal.

Might be a touch high for me, but it’s solid. I hope he just ran out of gas at the end of the season, but he didn’t look great at the finish or in the playoffs. My worry would be that he’s mostly a regular season guy that we can’t give minutes to in the playoffs. 4/48 is a steep price if we don’t get a playoff rotation guy.

I think 4/$48 is extremely reasonable, considering there are players the make 5 times that.

What would you have paid him instead?🫢🫢🫢

I was hoping for $9M annually, which is what Ty Jerome got. I think Jerome is a better player too.

Oh well, it’s not bad. Hopefully it leave enough for Goodie.

The Brooks extension is what I’m really nervous about.

Man, that's understandable. But at the same time, I feel the need to ask you this, especially the day before Father's Day.

Would you feel better about the Brooks extension if it was for... Aaron Brooks, instead?🥹🥹🥹

Well, he is better than Dragic.

Good to see him get rewarded and back on the team. Probably wasn't much negotiating, this might've even been done weeks ago. Now we gotta see how Goodie and Mark shake out.

I think mostly the last year is tricky…if that was a team option I’d feel pretty great. Even still, 4/48 isn’t bad by any means. Glad he’s back…also it sounds like we’re planning to be over the tax, so I’m less worried.

The Athletic figured him for 3 years, $51 million, so 4 years, $48 million a year looks like a bargain.

If he plays like he did most of the season, it’s a steal

This is a great bit of business by Gregory and Co.

I do not have the same hopes for the Brooks deal that I'm sure is next.

Perfect for us. 12.3M per was the early Bird and this is basically what we secured. I would have been zero surprised if somebody would have thrown the full MLE for Gillespie.

I'm happy with this contract and not concerned about it being an overpay. I think CG was great last year, and I'm not concerned about the slump he hit at the end of the season. I think he was just exhausted from playing far more games and minutes than he ever had before in his career. It's a very reasonable price for such a good shooter and solid rotation guard. And now he can play with the confidence that he's here to stay and part of the team and rotation going forward.
