Hey, when you have a chance to trade away your future for the 25th best PF in the league, you take it. You just do!

I don't know that I like it either, TBH. But I'm not as upset about the pick swaps as many of you. There's no guarantee the 2033 pick is going to be a good one or much better than the one we got in return. If Ishbia continues to run the team like he has, I don't ever see it being a lotto pick. Time will tell on all of this. I wouldn't have personally made the trade just based on his DV past but I'm willing to give him a chance.

Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
Bad news for those hoping the trade may get rescinded:
John Gambadoro @Gambo987
The Miles Bridges trade and Luke Kennard signing are expected to be completed early next week. The initial trade with Charlotte, Minnesota and Brooklyn should be done this weekend. Phoenix can’t complete their transaction until that trade is completed. There is no risk of it falling apart, just timing.

New updates about Bridges from TMZ. His ex spilled water on him and he is claiming she "assaulted" him.

I hope everyone here keeps the same energy going into the season.

Can we please back out of the deal? It’s not too late!Johnson later filed her own complaints against Bridges, stating he filed charges against her in an effort to take away her custody and that Bridges attempted to run her over in a golf cart during the custody exchange.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
Whether or not it actually ends up as a good pick or not does not take away from the fact that it is a more valuable pick, right now. Meaning, we could have used it in a better trade.Bucktastic365 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 3:21 pmBecause with that pick we were going to draft the next KOBE, right?

Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
Yes. This is the key. I don't know why it's not registering for some (particularly for Ishbia and his minions).JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 6:16 pmWhether or not it actually ends up as a good pick or not does not take away from the fact that it is a more valuable pick, right now. Every draft pick is a crap shoot. But an unprotected pick far out into the future holds immense value and if traded is usually part of a package for an all star. Or at least a top-50 guy. I can live with that kind of pick being sent out, but if the return is the 25th PF in the league on an expiring contract who is 28 and relies on athleticism to be effective, I think it's justified to feel a certain way about it. There's not even upside here. Once he's extended, does anyone think that contract is not immediately a negative asset? If we're paying Bridges $20M, where are we playing the two similar-profile players we just drafted?
Another way of looking at it: Booker so badly needs a true #2 (or a #1 to bump him down to #2) next to him if we're going all in. That pick (via trade) was probably our best chance of getting that player.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I agree with everything you say Bazz. Only minor difference is, we are never getting another true star and certainly not a star that can bump Book to 2 in the next three years. I no longer root for realistic contention. All I ask for is the players on the court to care about the result of games (no more malaise) and for there to be some youth that I can get behind.
I’m on the side that hated and continues to hate this trade.

None of that matters, Jeremy. Bridges is a good player from Michigan State. The only thing that will keep him off the Suns is him going to jail.JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 5:33 pm

Under the new rules, the Suns pick last season would have been lottery eligible.
