Trade Deadline 2016

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
Slim chance, but it may help us if the Knicks are hot for a PG now. They had eyes on Jennings but have also liked Knight in the past. Maybe they wait on Jennings in the summer or they take Knight and don't have to worry about not getting a PG in the summer.
Re: Trade Deadline 2016
If true, that nixes any potential interest they would have in Knight.Wally_West wrote:https://mobile.twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/699674491262140416
I like Harris, but that's a good move for Orlando.

Like something official or just rumors he heard?DrSublime wrote:Bickley just said he's heard Knight to Orlando for something + Channing Frye.
Re: Trade Deadline 2016
Well they aren't taking Jennings and Knight so that is probably off the board. It is interesting Orlando bailed on that Harris contract so soon, but I did think it was really high for what he brought to the table. Keef is probably mad because there is no shot of him going to Detroit now.Wally_West wrote:Like something official or just rumors he heard?DrSublime wrote:Bickley just said he's heard Knight to Orlando for something + Channing Frye.

I like it for Detroit. Harris is a good fit next to Drummond.INFORMER wrote:If true, that nixes any potential interest they would have in Knight.Wally_West wrote:https://mobile.twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/699674491262140416

I'm not crazy about the forward combo of Morris and Harris.

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
I think Frye and Oladipo are definitely on the move. Where to, who knows. Magic have been trying to move Frye since the start of the season and don't need him now with Illysova.
I wonder if the Magic have a Payton-Jennings backcourt in mind, or a Jennings-Dipo/Fournier backcourt in mind. Payton is a hell of a passer and a good defender whose shot is improving (tho he'll never be a scorer). The Magic could be just using Jennnigs and Illyasova as cap reilef and a means to get out of Harris' deal.
I'd strongly consider taking Payton, but not with Knight and Bledsoe on the roster.

I was thinking Stanley Johnson and Harris. Morris should eventually be a sub. He's trash.INFORMER wrote:I'm not crazy about the forward combo of Morris and Harris.

LOL. Let Frye go as a free agent because we don't want to match the Orlando offer, trade the LAL pick for Knight, then trade Knight to get Frye back. What a perfect illustration of the franchise's dysfunction.DrSublime wrote:Bickley just said he's heard Knight to Orlando for something + Channing Frye.

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
I would honestly have loved a Knight/Kieff for Harris trade.
Harris still has a lot of potential, he's barely 23 and has excellent size to be a SF and can be a small ball PF on occasion too.

I was thinking of something like this:

Re: Trade Deadline 2016

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
I KNEW Rudy Gay was going to be in play for us. He'd fit right in with the low IQ chuckers of Knight and Bledsoe.
Re: Trade Deadline 2016
Rudy Gay isn't chucker, he's a career 45% shooter on an avg of 15.5 shots per game. He also has his TO per game around 1.5 this year. The hate this guy has always received here still baffles me. He's not a great option for our situation by any means, but he's a really solid player.

Gross. Really, really, gross.

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
Is it me or have we been rumored to be interested in Rudy Gay every off-season and trade deadline since Amare was here!!!!
Count me on the it doesn't make any sense bandwagon....

Re: Trade Deadline 2016
I really don't like the Magic/Pistons trade for either team. I do understnd it from Orlando's POV in that they need to open up mins for Gordon and Super Mario, but Throwing Jennings into the Payton/Dipo/Fournier pile doesn't seem to make sense. Seems like they could've gotten more for Harris.
I'm not big on Harris. He's ok, but I just don't think he's the type of player you build around and although the Pistons aren't nesscerrily saying that, he's getting paid like a building block. That being said I agree with Inf. The Morris/Harris combo I'm not a fan of and it seems to bury their best prospect, Stanley Johnson, on the bench.
