Predict the Roster

Post by O_Gardino »

The most intriguing thing about the draft this year is that we have so many roster needs, so many picks, and so few open spots. McD's history and comments almost guarantees us trades and moves on draft night. And there's really no obvious move for us to make.

So I want to read everyone's wild predictions for what the roster will look like when the smoke clears and the dust settles.

That would be a huge upgrade on last season.

Whatever an 11 seed in the West looks like. That's what the roster will look like.

I don't see Horford coming here. It also feels like we have bungled Bogdanovich coming next season already. Jeremy Lin? Yeah, he seems like a super gimmicky type move that's always right up our alley. How Sunsy of you to think of that. I think you nailed it.

I'd love to see Butler. I don't think we're smart enough to pull that off though.

Can't wait to see what we offer Harrison Barnes

I don't think we have done anything to hinder bringing Bogdan over. His buy out is more than he can make here, until next season when he isn't bound by the draft rights anymore. He was never coming over before that.

Please please please please don't try and get Horford. It doesn't make sense for this team.

And I just don't have faith in the FO that they know what a TEAM looks like. I think they are OK at evaluating unproven talent, but that isn't the same thing.

Yup. Seems like they not only just go after names whose stats look good, but also don't seem to want to give us a real identity. Are we aiming at being a defensive team? Fun n Gun? Halfcourt execution team? Has Watson made any mention of this (besides the "Xs and Os are overrated" comment)? Or is he just going to be a yes-man who is going to roll with whatever players management gives him?

I don't think that is fair, at all. Did you listen to the interview? He wasn't talking about it that way. He was talking about earning respect beyond basketball from his players, and basketball comes after that. After I listened to it, I have no problem with what he said.

And I am on record as saying I hated the way we hired him.

Thanks for being a voice of reason.

Today is the day when the trades hit the fan! Nobody else has the senility to make a wild prediction?

I'm too afraid to. I am quietly hoping and praying that the team doesn't do something phenomenally stupid today, like draft a chucker, or a guy who can't defend or rebound, or not trade Knight.
