Also: FiveThirtyEight posted rankings for the NBA teams. They think we will win about 30 games.

About 30 wins seems right for this team. The more important thing is to develop players, roles, and a positive culture for the next few years.

Knicks look pretty rough against the Cavs, getting by on individual stuff from Melo, Rose and Porzingis rather than much of a system. Hornacek is sitting back watching while Cleveland go on a run, just like he used to do with Phoenix. I really hope Watson is better at calling time outs to stop momentum. Cleveland looks terrific to be fair - just a class above.

Wow, Spurs/Warriors. Pretty impressive. I do think the Ws just need 1-2 dozen games together to figure things out, much like Lebron and the Heat first did. Still very dominant win by the Spurs.

3 common predictions that are so far not true:

Spurs will be a lot worse.
Utah will be very good.
Warriors will be so dominant that the games won't be interesting.

I just don't see it with Utah. I know a lot of people are expecting them to be good, but I don't think they're there yet.

They picked up a few nice vets this offseason, and all their young guys are a year older. I think they will be good. But the Hayward injury is tough, and they still haven't proven anything. Having Gobert in the middle to guard that rim is such a luxury for their defense; that alone will win them some close games this year.
