This was our chance to get the superstar and we were turned down. TJ the young talent, PJ the expiring contract, Tyson the veteran defensive big, Knight the starting PG who needs a new team, a bunch of picks....couldn't get it done. Again, it's the Kings but still.
Our draft pick alone was a better package than what they got. Kings may have had no interest in Warren and Len, but our pick will be 10-15 spots higher than the pelicans.

Not if we add Cousins now. The team would improve and the pick would become less desirable.

Tyson has more value but not much IMO. Move him while his value is high because he'll just be 35 heading into training camp next season.
I don't think we should trade Tyson since we are probably going to let Len walk. I also don't think the yield will be very much for him, and his contract isn't horrible, so I don't see much point in it.

It's the Kings and of course, Vivek supposedly fell in love with Buddy during draft workouts which no doubt influenced things here. But hey, Vivek hasn't been wrong before when it comes to basketball.

I would do Green's expiring deal for Knight. Clear the cap.

And do we know for sure we're not re-signing Len? I love Tyson honestly, I just don't want it to get to a point where he wants out and we have to accommodate him.

Woj just said on TV that the final two offers were from the Lakers and Pelicans.

Suns weren't even top 2.

True, but the same goes for the pelicans. There pick is going to be 14-18 range. Ours would have been probably 7-10 with an outside shot at top 3

If the Suns arent gonna trade for a superstar like McD always claims he wants to, fine.

But they better not stand PAT and they better be heavy sellers and get rid of Knight, Tucker, Chandler, Barbosa etc.

Sarver needs to get involved if McD is being too passive.

Pathetic deal for the Kings, no doubt about it. I don't think it's anywhere near a lock that Cousins stays in NO. I can definitely see he and AD butting heads. I wouldn't be surprised if McD offered something like Knight, Len and a Miami pick and other filler just to try. If Boogie is on the market next offseason and Bledsoe is still here, I can definitely see Cousins being interested in coming to Phoenix. Imagine getting him for nothing next offseason. Probably won't happen, but one can wish.

I would like for Sarver to take a vacation for the entire week of the trade deadline. Somewhere remote. No cell towers or internet access plz/thx.

I vote for Mars. And if the trip takes a bit longer than a week, no biggie.

Sarver getting more involved in basketball decisions is the last thing we need.

What is standing Point After Touchdown?

UglyTruth wrote:I know some of you are all concerned about Cousins attitude and "winning" ability but your all gonna be proven wrong.

Davis and Cousins are gonna lead the Pelicans to top 4 seeds in the West for the next several years and then Cousins will finally get the props he get deserves.

This trade is worse than the Gasol/Kwame trade. It's worse than the Harden trade. It's worse than the CP3/Lakers trade. Can Silver please veto this?!

Trust me guys, all of us are gonna regret not trading for Cousins when his attitude suddenly improves in a winning atmosphere in New Orleans and we realize that he's the best superstar who has been traded in the last 4-5 years.
Too bad they did not pick our offer. Boogie, Booker and Bledsoe would have been fun to watch. Sure, I understand that MCD didn't want to give up the farm because of Boogies contract situation but that NO package is really weak. I cannot help but wonder how close we were and if the inclusion of Chriss, Bender and/or another pick could have moved the needle.

I believe Cousins will do great with AD in NO but I think that doesn't really proof a point. We can never really compare the outcome of these two timelines. There are just too many intangibles. We do not have AD, our owner is not very popular and we just don't know if he would have liked our organisation, coaching and the Kentucky connection enough to resign here. Unfortunately I feel that he would have but these kind of speculations are all kind of moot. I just hope we don't do something stupid now because we missed out on the big fish.

I think we should focus on what's ahead. We do not have Boogie and that sucks but we also don't have his problems and we still have all of our assets, our young and promising core and a pretty good overall chemistry. Besides we still have a chance to draft Fultz and make Bledsoe or Booker convince Boogie to come over in FA after the experiment in NO fails miserably ... **iamkeepingmyfingerscrossed**

Savage! :D

Can you imagine being someone in NO's front office, waking up with the worst hangover ever and then remembering you traded for DMC without giving up anything that is even remotely as valuable. I think I couldn't stop laughing for a while. Vivec and Divac must have seen every brothel of NO during all-star-weekend. I wonder how bad their hangover feels now ...

ShelC wrote:The Kings know Tyreke and his deal is expiring. Knight has a lot of years left which is why there's not a lot of interest. And he also plays at the deepest position where other guys like Elfrid Payton, Reggie Jackson, Mudiay could be available in a trade. Derrick Rose is a FA in the offseason....I'm a big believer in addition by subtraction and if we have to take back role players on smaller/shorter deals to move him, so be it.

Tyson has more value but not much IMO. Move him while his value is high because he'll just be 35 heading into training camp next season.
Tyson is the obvious player that should be moved, that means he won't be moved. He or Tucker would be great pieces for almost any team heading into the playoffs.

I keep hearing that we should trade high and move Bledsoe. He is only 27, yeah he has had knee problems, but should be with this team when we get competitive again. Chandler will not be with us and quite frankly I do not see any positives that he has brought to this team. He has very good rebounding numbers but not much else. I don't see the leadership he was supposed to bring or any growth from Len. I thought Chandler was brought in to help develop Len, where is the development? We still play lousy defense and lose a crap load of games. I would not miss him.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

If Knight for Green is truly on the table, jut take it, dangle PJ for a low 1stR and call it a deadline.
