You're right. I meant to add that, but didn't he also have bone spurs? Could those bone spurs have helped bring along the back problems?LazarusLong wrote:Bad back did him in.In2ition wrote:Ok, a bone spur doesn't sound bad, but didn't bone spurs essentially shorten Larry Bird's career?

I think some kind of Spurs essentially ended the SSOL Suns.

Yeah, he had bone spurs on both feet. They were surgically removed (the spurs, not his feet).In2ition wrote:You're right. I meant to add that, but didn't he also have bone spurs? He came back from that OK, but I variety of back problems ultimately did him in, such as a compressed nerve root and herniated disc.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

We did that to ourselves with the Shaq trade.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think some kind of Spurs essentially ended the SSOL Suns.

Wasn't the Shaq trade motivated by the belief that it would help us match up better against the Spurs?Ring_Wanted wrote:We did that to ourselves with the Shaq trade.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think some kind of Spurs essentially ended the SSOL Suns.

Perhaps; back then everything we were doing was with the Spurs in mind. Misguided belief in any case. Marion had to go but Shaq was not the answer. The Pau Gasol trade also had to do with it.Cap wrote:Wasn't the Shaq trade motivated by the belief that it would help us match up better against the Spurs?Ring_Wanted wrote:We did that to ourselves with the Shaq trade.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think some kind of Spurs essentially ended the SSOL Suns.

Did I just hear from Gambo that the Suns could have traded Knight for Rubio?

Hadn't seen this posted anywhere but WOW. Any guesses? First off...who are "three of our top players?" Bledsoe, Booker...TJ? Chander? And which EC team would be that bold and willing to make the offer for their 3 best? Atlanta with Schroeder, Milsapp, Howard? Indy with Teague, George and Turner? Detroit with Jackson, KCP, Drum?

Gambo suspected it was Detroit. He knew Detroit was shopping KCP, Drummond and Reggie Jackson. Burns and Gambo were debating yesterday if that was a good deal for Booker, Chandler and _____. Hell no

I'd consider it if it was bled/warren/Chandler
Re: Suns News: Week 18 2/20-2/26
I'm not very interested in Drummond...
