Maybe he was searching through the candy to see if there was anything healthy?

I feel that this lottery is hugely pivotal to future success for both franchises. It might mean the difference between a bright near future and a longer rebuilding timeline. If the Lakers get Ball or Fultz and we strike out, it's not going to be good news for the Suns. They will be back into the playoffs quickly and then add PG a year later. I think the same would go for the Suns, except the part about picking up PG. I just feel like there will be an acceleration factor, especially if they pick up Ball, same with the Suns.

Lonzo's game is electrifying. Anyone see some Kidd with part of Lavine's athleticism?
Edit: already hearing the rigged calls if LAL end up with him.

No doubt. I'll be one of them.Ring_Wanted wrote:Lonzo's game is electrifying. Anyone see some Kidd with part of Lavine's athleticism?

He's fast, but I'm not sure about the athleticism of Lavine's level. He's certainly not quite as strong as Kidd when he came out.

There are very few people with Lavine's athletics gifts, Ball certainly isn't one of them. Ball is a good athlete, but he's not elite.

Part of, guys. Agreed that Lavine is very rare. But look how effortlessly he finishes dunks. There is leaper flare with him.
Re: Game Day: Lakers (19-45) @ Suns (21-43), Thurs 3/9/17
He's a very smooth athlete, his body is very similar to lavine and he jumps with ease, but he's not going to be winning dunk contests. As for the Kidd comparisons, statistically they work. Ball's numbers are comparative to Kidd's as a freshman but Kidd was an All-NBA defender. I don't see that from Ball.

KIdd was also one of the fastest end to end players I've ever seen, a 1 man fast break. I just dont see the comparison there.

Good point, but my question was trying to gauge the guy's value around here, that's why I asked for a fair offer or maximum package to send. In my case, I want him paired with Booker, so making a swap between them, is a wash in terms of having ONE talented guard, not neccesarily the best. If we are out of the top3, and then leapfrogged in the lottery, would you give up the 5th pick for Russell, or prefer some prospect at that spot? Some combo of two out of Chriss-Bender-Warren? That sort of things is what intrigues me, the perceived value of Russell. I'm honestly don't know what price would be fair, just trying to find a PG in our timeline to add in case we miss the Ball/Fultz sweepstakes.Split T wrote:I'd definitely take him, but I don't see the Lakers giving him up. He can easily slide to the 2 if they land Fultz or ball. A Fultz-Russell-Ingram-Randle-Zubac core is pretty nice, with Clarkson and Nance off the bench.Aztec Sunsfan wrote:Question:
If we don't get Ball or Fultz, but the Lakers do, would you take DeAngelo Rusell out of their hands, and what would you consider a fair deal?
If he came along in a bargain deal, I think most of us would take a flier on him, so that's why I ask for your maximum offer to get him. Talented guy, fits in our timeline perfectly, friends with Booker.
Re: Game Day: Lakers (19-45) @ Suns (21-43), Thurs 3/9/17
Hmm, Russell and Booker could be great offensively, but that could be rough on defense. Ideally I'd like to pair Booker with a back court mate that plays D. Still, if Jackson, Fultz, and Ball are off the board, I'd consider giving up our pick straight up for Russell. I'd do Bender and Warren for Russell and Nance, but I don't think LA would.
He's a bit of a mystery, but Ntilikina might end up a better player than Russell. So I'd also consider just drafting him to pair with Booker.

That game was fun for the first half.
Seems like the league "figures out" Ulis. Now it's his turn to adjust.
And NO to Russell.

I already know how it's going to turn out. We're going to get the first pick for the first time in franchise history and we're going to trade it away because we already have Bledsoe.In2ition wrote:I feel that this lottery is hugely pivotal to future success for both franchises. That's fine with me. As long as we trade it for Anthony Davis, KAT, Antetekoumpo, or Kawhi.

I don't see us trading the number 1 pick. (I can't imagine us getting it either, to be fair!)Superbone wrote:I already know how it's going to turn out. quick question. was this a pretty good game to lose in terms of ping pong balls? lakers win, they maybe get some confidence and win a couple more before seasons end
Re: Game Day: Lakers (19-45) @ Suns (21-43), Thurs 3/9/17
I think their schedule from here on is pretty tough, so this result may not end up helping the ping pong causeDanimal wrote:quick question. was this a pretty good game to lose in terms of ping pong balls? lakers win, they maybe get some confidence and win a couple more before seasons end

Philly also lost last night, so it's important to keep losing to stay in the bottom 3.

Philly and LA play each other Sunday night, so one of them will get a win!
