Yes, I'm as tired of that as I am of "4th best record NBA history" and "best franchise to never win a title"

I don't know. I was watching G Green's defense in particular last night and he is pretty darn bad.
I wouldn't disagree with what Hornacek said, I just don't think there's a need to state it publicly. You're not really going to enlighten anyone, because the smart fans have figured the same things out for themselves and you're just going to piss off the players and make other team's players think "That's the way they treat the players in Phoenix?"

I actually like what Hornacek said about Archie wanting defined roles. Something to the effect of, "just play good basketball, play good defense, run the plays, make open shots". He said it better though. Check out the interview on the AZSports app. It was from a couple days ago.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

You are misremembering.
Well there were no Terry Porter years. It was part of a season and Gentry fixed that shit the following year.

I do feel about as bad as I did during the '12-'13 season but for entirely different reasons except for 1. We're not any good at basketball. At least we had a top 5 pick coming. This year we have lucky #13, fantastic.
Go Suns!

Would have been nice if Coach had been calling out players earlier in the season. Not sure whats the point of calling out Green now. Most of our team is bad on defense.

Leander must be pissed at how they are treating his bro. I always picture Leander as JD and Green as Turk. :)

Nice job of Hornacek making Green his scapegoat but letting Morri and PJ Tucker run all over him and do whatever the hell they want out on the court. What an idiot.

I don't have an issue with what Hornacek said. He gave Green a ton of rope this year. He was asked why Green lost his rotation spot and answered. He wasn't hitting his shots and his defense was awful. Pretty straightforward.

I just don't see the point of making it public with a week left in the regular season.

We all know what Green can do offensively and can't do defensively - and he's been a pretty good citizen (as far as we know), so why make this an issue.

Just tell the reporters that you're playing him more because the offense needs a boost, and leave it at that.

Fair enough. Can't argue with that.

No one on this team looks out for each other. It's just finger pointing . If your a good leader you don't throw everyone under the bus like that publicly even if it's true. Thats bullshit leadership . You have to know how to work with personalities so people feel respected and want to work harder and better for you

No, the Terry Porter / Blanks years were HORRIBLE. This year is a big disappointment, but that era was way worse. The big differences this time are:

* We don't have a ton of horrendous contracts like we had back then, with T******u, Childress, Warrick, etc.

* We have a significantly better coach (though not saying he's great or perfect)

* Our GM is significantly better (though not saying he's great or perfect)
whoa, terry porter and those blanks years never overlapped.

this is worse because the suns are locked for the next 4 yrs with bledsoe, with no high draft picks. i dont expect bledsoe and the morris twins to be happy in a rebuilding situation after signing those long deals. and when potential coaches look at this and other teams with potential vacancies, which teams would they want to take over? NOH, minnesota, washington, utah or PHX?

it was much better actually because you know it was gonna end soon (by the end of that season). this one feels more endless...

Saw this because I read while logged out. I feel completely the opposite. We had older players on bad contracts then, no direction, terrible management, and no quality young players - except Keef, whom I wasn't high on then. Now we have Len, TJ, Archie, and Bogdan, but also the MoBros, who have really stepped up, Bled and Knight - all valuable young players. In addition, we have three additional picks on the balance sheet, whereas we had two at the end of that year - and one of them was the #30.

We're flush with liquid assets, so I think we could pull a 180 next season. The FO is talking about free agency, but I'm at a loss to figure out whom we're targeting, other than Wes Matthews (but the achilles! agghh!). I'd like to see us sell on Eric, because he'll sulk if we make him a 2, and Brandon has to be the 1.

I wish there was a way we could keep Green in Phoenix. I actually really like him as a player. I think he's the type of guy you can put in with a second unit to bring energy and scoring. He moves great without the ball, I think he's a willing passer, and I think he's a good teammate. Yeah, his defense isn't great, but I don't know of anyone, including Bledsoe, who is above reproach right now on this team.

I just get the sense that some guys, whose effort has never really been questioned (Green, Dragic) are being made scapegoats for a season that was mismanaged by the front office from the start.

It's not that Green's defense isn't great or even that it isn't good. The issue is that it is downright terrible! I mean resulting in dunks most of the time terrible.
