Suns News: Week 24 4/6-4/12

Post by carey »

5 games left. Can we reach the ultimate record of mediocrity at 41-41? We only need 2 wins! This week we're on the road 4 straight games before we return home for our final home game a week from Tuesday. Every team remaining on our schedule is tough to beat. I won't be at the Pelicans game Friday. My Mom is having a medical procedure done and I need to be available. That means I'll have to watch on local Tv with Joel Meyers announcing. Ick.

Last Week's Games

Monday, March 30th @ Portland LOSS 109-86
Thursday, April 2nd @ Golden State LOSS 107-106
Saturday, April 4th vs. Utah WIN 87-85

This Week's Games

Tuesday, April 7th @ Atlanta 7:30PM EST
Wednesday, April 8th @ Dallas 9:30PM EST ESPN
Friday, April 10th @ New Orleans 8:00PM EST
Sunday, April 12th @ San Antonio 7:00PM EST

The plugin evidently doesn't work with the t parameter, so leave it out and tell viewers to go to the 0:35 time stamp.

New mix of Bogdan Bogdanovic. I see the Suns front office trying to bring him into the fold next year, we need his outside shooting desperately.

That video confirms my suspicions, Len is taller than most and nearly always flails his legs like a silly person when he dunks.
Love, Hurts.

I kind of wish they would shut down Len for the rest of the season. I don't think his ankle is back to 100%, and why risk aggravating or hurting it more? Just rest up and hopefully come back stronger and as part of a better core of players.

He's going to have plenty of time to rest that ankle next week. I don't think playing on it risks turning it into a permanent condition. At least, I assume his doctors have come to that conclusion and that's why he's playing.

Wouldn't be surprised if Wright got Frye money.

i'd rather bring in milos teodosic and get rid of bledsoe.

teodosic and knight in the backcourt.

Sadly I think the front office has hitched its trailer to Bledsoe and Markieff. I don't think those two are going anywhere.

We have criminally underused him and not made him feel like part of our team going forward. Even Hornacek (or was it McDo?) was interviewed and said he felt that our core for the future was Bledsoe, Knight, Morrii, Len, Goodwin, Warren. Or something like that. Conspicuously left off B. Wright.

It's a damn shame, too, since he's a great player and should be getting way more minutes and involved in the team way more than he is. Our current FO and coach don't seem to know what to do with the players on the roster who are worth keeping.

who would benefit from a brandan wright type guy? 8 mil per isn't all that unreasonable if he gets minutes in the upper 20s. he's probably better suited to a 6th/7th man role, similar to what he had with dallas. i hate to say it but maybe he makes more sense on the top teams. sigh. i quite like his game.

Re Coro's article on Green today. I feel bad, because I really like Gerald as a person and a player. The problem I see is fit. He's a fire and ice kind of player, but he meshed a lot better with last year's starters than this year's crew. I bet he'd work much better with Brandon Knight, actually, than Eric Bledsoe. That defense would suck, but the shooting would be great. Maybe if he had consistent minutes he would settle down and stop rushing.

IDK. Very disappointing. The only player from last year's squad who's jersey I considered buying.

I'm not so sure. I think we successfully drove up the price for Dragic in a limited market by claiming our desire to keep him, don't see why the same tactic wouldn't work for those two. I think it's likely we keep Kieff, however, because young, quality 4's are hard to come by. They all have flaws, and he has his. Critically, imo, his offensive talents don't mesh well with the rest of our offense - he's not a finisher, doesn't score in the paint, but he's a beast in the high post. Iso ball. Yuck.

Here's the article, btw:

Green comes off as a little delusional. Based on last year, he may not have deserved to have his role marginalized to start the season, but he doesn't seem to be taking enough blame for it disappearing once the season was underway. He's been really bad on both sides of the ball.

Agreed with not taking blame enough in the article (although it is an article from coro that is basically being used to show why the Suns won't resign their most popular player--so take that with a pound of salt). But I didn't feel like he was terrible until mid-season and all the stuff hit the fan. Sure, he had his problems on defense (like 80% of our team), and he wasn't having a career year like last year, but he was getting spot minutes. You have to expect a bit of a decline.
