I think he's the type of guy you can put in with a second unit to bring energy and scoring. He moves great without the ball, I think he's a willing passer, and I think he's a good teammate. Yeah, his defense isn't great, but I don't know of anyone, including Bledsoe, who is above reproach right now on this team.

I just get the sense that some guys, whose effort has never really been questioned (Green, Dragic) are being made scapegoats for a season that was mismanaged by the front office from the start.
I agree with every damn word of this.

I admit the large faults in Green's game. But I look at him as a guy who I can picture as a piece on a great team. He's a microwave SG off the bench. You put him out there with a more of a distributing bench PG, and a rim protecting bench center, etc., where it's okay if he takes a lot of shots during that bench time, and where if he slips a bit on D, there are guys to cover for it. This roster isn't ideal for his skillset any more.

By contrast, Eric Bledsoe is a much better overall NBA player than Green. But I cannot picture Bledsoe as part of a great team. He doesn't shoot or pass well enough to be a starting PG; he doesn't shoot well enough to be a starting SG; and he's too good/expensive to come off the bench. He doesn't fit.

He's a well-paid shill and bagman for the organization.
For some reason this reminds me of the line "something for the rag and bone man" from Radiohead's Go To Sleep. That song also has lyrics about basically checking out from taking notice any more and going to sleep, which seems appropriate at the moment!

You are misremembering.
Well there were no Terry Porter years. It was part of a season and Gentry fixed that shit the following year.

I do feel about as bad as I did during the '12-'13 season but for entirely different reasons except for 1. We're not any good at basketball. At least we had a top 5 pick coming. This year we have lucky #13, fantastic.
He almost got us into the playoffs that year if I recall correctly.

It becomes guaranteed after Summer league. There is very little chance he makes the team. I wouldn't worry about it. What I don't understand is why they don't swing for the fences on some of these call ups. Another 28 year old guy that has bounced around everywhere? What does he bring cause it ain't potential and it's probably not veteran leadership since he hasn't lead anything. Just seems silly.
Go Suns!

BTW, who's going to win the Dan Majerle Hustle Award this season? Does anyone deserve it?

I say we give it to Goran. A slap in the face to a roster that deserves the slap. We'd pretty much have to clean house after doing it, which is a good thing.

Oooh, that would be sweet! Then we mend fences, he returns as a FA and we kick Bledsoe's ass into the curb, the MoBros to serve time and Tucker to China...
A man can dream, right?

Jeff Hornacek and PJ Tucker 1 on 1
by Arthur Masonbury AzSportsNewsTribune

He's a good guy. Something about him - I feel him inside. He is that kind of guy. Just a swell friend. Said Jeff from his command center located within the basement of Kohls. Some of our other players just don't do it for me. I have asked - and they don't. "

Hornacek is building a career with the Suns as a dominating strategy man and a master of juggling egos and personas, getting the most out of his favorite players. His goto guy is PJ Tucker the surprise find of last season Jeff couldn't live without him . "When he handles the ball, he reminds me of a little of LeBron. He has the handles for it. He drives me whenever I ask him too which is golly, quite often . Shucked Jeff .

We met the two at there favorite pre game spot Baskin Robbins . "They might as well call it 1 flavor instead of 31 -- for me it's always vanilla" smiled Jeff , his hair parted perfectly "One time a man let me pet a rabbit - it was fun for awhile then he went to sleep" . PJ , wearing head to toe FUBU strolls in , the two have a natural back and forth - you can imagine it being similar to the relationship between Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson. From behind the counter a young woman asks PJ what he's having -- before he can speak, Jeff answers for him "He'll have the chocolate" Jeff smiled toward PJ "they call us ebony and ivory" he said. The two chuckled together .

That afternoon we talked about basketball -- they wished that PJ could be every player instead of one "He's more than 1 to me, he's 5 " said Jeff, turning shy - blushing. PJ embraced him . The sun set- the two wound up at Applebees "It's mudslide Wednesday" shouted PJ "one mudslide two straws" demurred Jeff "THIS is more important than winning any old dumb game , right PJ "

PJ Tucker probably deserves the hustle award, but my guess is they rotate it around to different guys, so they'll probably inexplicably give it to somebody like Bledsoe or Morris just so those guys will have won it.
