Anyone for getting Zion? Kinda feel like we’re at that point of desperation where we take a flier on a guy like him if he can be had on the cheap, especially with the recent string of personal issues. A healthy Zion could fit in nicely with this team.

No. I don't want another #1 pick who doesn't care about basketball.

Not sure Zion aligns with Michigan State values.

Zion's talent and potential are undeniable. But his repeated injuries seem to be caused by a lack of interest in conditioning and taking care of his body, leading to him being fat and lacking the muscle and tendon strength to avoid reinjuring himself. And his extra-curricular activity suggests a guy who maybe doesn't put his commitment to basketball first. I don't think I would take the chance on him.

If all it costs is Beal, sure I’ll do it, but I’m not giving up anything for Zion

Kinda what I was thinking. We’re desperate and have little to work with. Thought with his negative press it’d help tank his value enough to take a chance on.

It’s going to be Smith/Green/#10
We want 27/29 as well, but Houston is not doing that. We’ve probably conceded on 29, but Houston probably doesn’t want to move 27 either. I’m hoping the compromise is we get Whitmore.

If 10 lands Demin I'll be very excited. Or we use Green and 10 to move for another star-ish player like Markkanen.

Demin is interesting…I’m in Utah and saw him play a bit at byu. He’s big and skilled, very high level passer…I worry about his ability to get into the lane. He’s prettt slow, needs a screen, and therefore is susceptible to switches and traps. Obviously he’s young and could still learn. The shot needs to improve and he needs to learn how to use his body to get where he wants.

Doesn’t allegations of sexual assault align perfectly with Michigan State values?

It took Giddey a few years to find his footing, but I love me a big passing PG. The kid from Illinois looks good too but I don't think he'll be around at 10.

You know what makes it even more insane? Presti was then able to trade Thomas the next February
for another first round draft pick! So they actually got 3 firsts out of it! One of which eventually ended up giving them MVP SGA and 7 (!)—including two swaps—additional first rounders!

That Bickley Blast really pushes for Johnnie Bryant for our new head coach. He did have a good point that if Booker has any say, he'd probably be more team Bryant than team Ott.

Presti's the man who took a paper clip and traded his way up to a Boeing Jumbo Jet. The man knows how to parlay and move assets so well and admire his ability to play the long game.

We must, MUST hold out for at least two 1sts. #10 this year is NOT enough; it gives us nothing to use for future tanking. I would rather have 2027 than #10 this year, but preferably both. Or they can keep #10 but we get 2027 and 2029.
If they won't surrender two 1sts, trade KD somewhere else to somebody who will: San Antonio, NYK, etc. Houston does not hold 100% of the leverage here.

Yep. Also showed Sarver's limitations as our owner. He forced Kerr's hand and signed off on it so I blame him much more than Kerr. Now we have money behind us. Just need to get the basketball expertise up to snuff and recover from our new owner's brash moves that handicapped our future. This summer will be interesting for sure in seeing if Ishbia can begin to right the ship.
