Let’s say Jalen Green plays really well and becomes an asset. What do we feel about potentially swapping him (and a bit of salary) for LaMelo?
If Jalen green plays so well that he's an asset like that why would you want to move him

This. I believe there is a ton of untapped upside in Green that if he can reach I wouldn't want to move on from. I'm kinda over the obsession with getting a traditional PG, they aren't really a thing anymore, and those that are aren't exactly in demand. I'm hoping Ott can get Green and Book going together, we shall see v

Because of overlap with Book. I’m actually reasonably high on Green and am rooting for him to succeed.

Jalen Green needs to shoot 3s and get to the rim (to score, get fouled or make an easy passh and not do much of anything in between. His mid range %s are appalling.
I’m not sure he or the FO want to commit to that kind of role (ie keep it simple - 3s and get to the basket) but I think they should.

I know Trae is polarizing but if we could put a package together for him I'd do it in a heartbeat. He's a Suns type of PG IMO and something like Green, Grayson/Royce and Mark Williams/Richards could be a starting point if the Hawks fall flat and look to move off his deal.
I would do a deal like that in a heartbeat. I love Trae and have wanted him here on the Suns for a while. The obvious big problem would be perimeter defense; with him and Book as our starting guards, we would be a defensive disaster. But I guess I'd just rather put two elite level talents like that in the guard spots and then try to find a way to build an elite roster around them. I think we could do it as long as the 3-5 spots were stocked with 3-and-D players who could fill in for most of the defensive issues. I do think it would be more likely to succeed than the current plan of infinite SG/SFs who overlap too much.

Book's shown to be a pretty good defender when motivated. And with guys like Dunn and Brooks, we can throw defenders at the better perimeter players and hide a guy like Trae on a corner shooter. Then you'd have (maybe) Williams or Maluach at the rim deterring shots as the last line of defense.

Luckily everything else is going great right now for the Clips, no distractions or problems over there, seems like they're on track for a great season!

Rockets, please do sign KD to a max extension for 4-5 years. You will not come to regret that decision at all, not in the slightest. Get it done!

Trojan Horse. Buyer beware. I love how they're still calling this dude a superstar.

I think the Rockets roster is much more well equipped (at least before the FVV injury) to insulate against KD's weaknesses and leverage his non-redundant strengths than our roster ever was. They are loaded with long, athletic, defensive beasts and have a coach who won't tolerate the kind of loafing that our last one did. They also really need his creation, even if it occasionally bogs down the offense. FVV going down is huge, though.

(I'm still annoyed we didn't get one of their power forwards in the trade)

Where is he ready to go? Home? The Beal experience is "I'm ready to go! just not today."

Hey, he's finally on a team where it counts, fellas. Maybe now he can finally put maximum effort into it.

I guess being on a finals team didn’t count. What an idiot.

That's a pretty good deal for the Warriors, given that they can just insta-turn it into an expiring if he doesn't play well. Kuminga basically loses his negotiation IMO. No other team wanted him badly enough to force a trade, and the Warriors didn't really commit much to him at all.

I just hope we're not the ones trading for and giving him the extension he's looking for. Pretty sure we could flip something like Allen and Richards for him now.
