Any thoughts on Alex Sarr's historically bad performance? 0-15 yesterday. Averaging just 6 points and shooting 35% over 3 games in summer league so far.
That was last summer. The Wizards haven't played in Summer league yet.
Sarr had a pretty strong second half to his rookie season. He looks like he's going to be a good player.
Oh, you're right. I was looking at the articles on the Summer League front page to see what i missed and it's right there but was published in '24. Guess they haven't updated? https://www.espn.com/nba-summer-league/
Josh Jackson's greatest accomplishment was helping Serge Ibaka go to the Bucks.
That man is a "fascinating" case of good basketball talent being overshadowed by poor life skills. His bone-headedness ended up being his defining quality.
At least he hasn't murdered anybody...yet like...dang it, can't remember his username anymore, Mr. Pessimism hasn't been on here forever. He should come back. He'd fit right in. Wormwood! That was it. What say you Wormy?!
LAS VEGAS — After quite the two years, I’m sure it was lovely for Phoenix Suns fans to just have some fun watching their basketball team.
While this was just in summer league, it featured a lot of the pieces that are the key to a new era, and an opening 103-84 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday that was a whole lot of huffs for that fresh air.
This was an interesting comment to the article and it's true that Washington's team was full of 1st round picks:
Washington had 7 1st rd picks from last two drafts. 2024 first-round picks Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, AJ Johnson, Kyshawn George and Dillon Jones(2nd rd pick 2024). Washington, like PHX had three picks in this years draft: No. 6 pick Tre Johnson, No. 21 pick Will Riley and No. 43 pick Jamir Watkins. So, 5 guys played with a years NBA experience for Washington making them the favorite to win. Did I mention that Sarr, Bub, AJ and Kyshawn are starters this past season for washington.....let that sink in. We beat their starters.
While we had two 1st round picks and two 2nd rounders from the last two drafts out there.
I haven't been this excited about the Summer Suns since Amare I don't think. I remember going to Vegas for Josh Jackson's debut and it was very underwhelming as was his career.
I wonder if there are any archived footage of Amare in summer league.
I also had the privilege of seeing Amare in the Pro-Am in Huntington Beach, I think it was, his rookie year. I'm pretty sure Bo Outlaw played in that as well.
Speaking of which, look what just popped up on my phone:

At the beginning of the game, the ESPN announcers were talking up Washington's 7 1sts and how a year of NBA experience takes guys to the next level. I love it when we can just embarrass the shit-talkers like that.

Amazing. That’s at LBC State? I played on that court for a basketball camp back in the late 90s.
