Your Top Ten Suns Predictions for the 2014-15 Season

Post by INFORMER »

Make 10 Suns predictions for this season. Here are mine:

1. Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe will each average 20 ppg.
2. The Suns top 3 leading scorers will be Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Isaiah Thomas, in that order.
3. Isaiah Thomas will win 6th man of the year.
4. Alex Len will play at least 60 games and receive at least 10 starts.
5. Gerald Green will be traded during the season.
6. TJ Warren will spend the majority of the season out of the rotation.
7. The Suns will use at least 5 different starting lineups.
8. The Suns will lose the season series against the New Orleans Hornets.
9. The Suns will acquire Al Horford from the Atlanta Hawks.
10. The Suns will lose in the second round of the playoffs to the Los Angeles Clippers.

1) if the suns are doing poorly by all-star break, they will trade dragic.

2) if the suns looks playoff bound by midseason, green is gone.

3) if the suns end up becoming one of the top two teams in the west (unlikely), they'll try to keep everybody important.

4) if the suns are playoff bound, mcdo will try to acquire one more big man.

5) big teams who play smart will punish us inside. (are the spurs still a big team?)

6) Isaiah Thomas is better than frye, but the suns will win 5 or 6 games LESS than last season.

I hate the timming of his injury. He could have been used the first three games of the season.

Horford, if he can play, could be the best 'consolidation' move available this season.

How's Atlanta fixed for guards?

1. Alex Len will replace Plumlee as the starting C sometime before February.

2. Eric Bledsoe will lead all Suns guards in points, assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks. He will lead all Suns players in all of those categories except rebounds.

3. Gerald Green will not get traded midseason.

4. Suns make the playoffs as the 7th seed.

1. PJ Tucker and Tyler Ennis will be traded during this season. (Not necessarily in the same trade.)

2. Eric Bledsoe will lead us in scoring.

3. Goran Dragic will lead us in assists.

4. Markieff Morris will lead us in 3-pointers made and in 3pt%.

5. Miles Plumlee will have a rough year and will be replaced by Alex Len as a starter.

6. TJ Warren will not crack the regular rotation all season. (Not a comment about his talent, just that we have too many SFs.)

7. Anthony Tolliver is a dud and will have a horrible season; the Morrii and Shavlik will take the lion's share of PF minutes all year.

8. Zoran Dragic will not be part of the regular rotation all year.

9. Isaiah Thomas is a stud and will be a great addition to our team. Possible 6th man of the year.

10. The Suns will make the playoffs as the 7th seed.

I'm absolutely certain this will not happen. And I think Marcus has a better chance at accomplishing that.

7) Len, Ennis, Zoran and Warren could be part of a trade package if the suns do better than expected this year.

If you qualify all your predictions, they're not that predictive. :)

OK, I'll have a go:
1) Dragic, Bledsoe and Thomas combine to average 55 points per game
2) as others have predicted, Thomas wins 6th man of the year
3) the Suns WILL make a trade before the deadline
4) Warren shows glimpses but PJ Tucker keeps the starting SF spot for the whole season
5) we see this 5 on court at some stage: Dragic, Thomas, Bledsoe, Green, Markieff
6) Alex Len's average stats will look bad, but he'll look much better than last season
7) when the Suns host the Spurs on 2/28, not all of the Spurs' big 3 play
8) someone will have 20 rebounds in a game against the Suns
9) we'll lose at least 1 game on an opposition last-possession offensive rebound
10) we'll just miss the playoffs, getting the 9th seed again (happy to be wrong on this one)

when the Suns host the Spurs on 2/28, not all of the Spurs' big 3 play
they had 2 of their big three. and the suns only 1 of it's big 2.

Alright, here we go..

5. Isaiah wins 6th Man.

6. Bledsoe, Dragic, and IT3 will all play 72 games or more.

7. Hornacek puts himself in contention yet again for COY.

8. Suns will lose every single game against Memphis.

9. However, we win the season series against the Spurs, 3-1.

10. We get the Lakers pick, but not Minnesota's.

8) bonus non-suns related prediction: spencer hawes will be judged as the best signing of the summer not named lebron. clippers will take the best record in the nba.

Eric Bledsoe will be an all star.

Goran Dragic will be an all star.

Markieff Morris loses his job to Tolliver.

Shavlik Randolph will start 10 games. (Shudders)

Alex Len puts up more than 1 block per game.

Gerald Green will lead the league in 3 attempts.

Thomas will be the crunch time pg because of his ft shooting.

PJ Tuckers makes an all nba defensive team.

Plumlee gets benched for Len by game 25.

Suns trade Green/PJ/Archie/picks for Kawhi Leonard because, why not?
Love, Hurts.

  • 1. eric bledsoe will be the suns mvp;
    2. the three pg attack will be effective and each will average between 28 to 35 min;
    3. we will see 3 pg used when the match up is right;
    4. IT3 will win 6th man of the year award;
    5. goran will lead the team in assists while bledsoe will lead in steals.
these are all the predictions i'm comfortable making. i'll follow up with 5 things i'd like to see, just to get to 10. they are not based on knowledge of the game/team just pure wishful thinking.
  • i'd like to see TJ and archie become significant members of the rotation
i'd like to see len stay on the court and improve his confidence (i think he eventually will be a valuable piece to the team, if he can stay on the court)
i'd like to see us make a move on the trade market, to get a quality big, but that's easier said than done. i may as well wish for PJ tucker to grow 4 inches.
i'd like to see the minnesota pick materialize this year, way more than the laker one.
