NBA Playoffs: 2nd Round

Post by carey »

Warriors roll easily. Wizards get by Hawks. Anyone think the Wiz can make the finals? That'd be so weird.

I think if the Grizzlies play physical, they might make it a series. I still don't think they would win, but they might push it to 6 or 7 games.

I don't think the Grizz can take it without Conley. He's so underrated and important for them. They don't have enough ball movement, shooting, or perimeter D without him. I actually think it'll be a short series unless he makes a miraculous recovery; Warriors in 5 let's say.

As for the Wizards, I was calling them out as being an ECF surprise a while ago. I don't think I'd bet on them to beat Cleveland, but without Love, hmmm.... It makes the East a lot more interesting. Everybody slept on the Wiz.

I really don't know what to make of the Clippers/Rockets series. I don't like either team to beat the Warriors in the WCF, so maybe it doesn't matter much. But do we like the Clips more now that they've bested the mighty Spurs? Do I remember that I severely underrated the Rockets by picking the Mavs to upset them, and that I should respect what a darn good season they've had behind Harden's amazing year? I'm kind of thinking the Rockets will take it, but I don't feel like I have a good handle on how the series will unfold.

I think the Clippers will take it. My guess would be 4-2.

I'm worried about Paul's hamstring injury, as well as the Clips' nonexistent bench. I think it'll catch up to them.

I think the Love injury has more or less guaranteed the champ will come from the West.

I also think the Warriors will essentially cruise to the title. They're better and deeper than the Spurs were. They match up better with Blake and DeAndre. And if the Clips play them in the conference finals, they'll be pretty beat up from going 7 players deep for two rounds.

Horrendous performance from the Rockets at home against the Chris Paul-less Clippers.
LA's beating Houston at its own game - 3 pointer after 3 pointer. The Rockets have been careless with the ball and Harden looks strangely disinterested (just 12 FGA with a couple of minutes left)

Didn't know about Paul. Just watched the pregame. Austin Rivers starting. You can flip that 4-2 in the Rockets favor for me.

The Rockets are pathetic. It may even be 4-1 Clips.

Shocked, really. Rockets were building a lead in their own building against a tired team w/out its star point guard. Then they started tossing the ball around like a hot potato and piling up more turnovers than a bakery.
McHale may be a players' coach, but sometimes you have to lead.

Nice gutcheck by the Clippers. Mad Matt Barnes has been making key plays for them.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Oh, and, yeah, hate him if you must, but Blake Griffin is that good ...

Clips could be in the midst of a deep playoff run here. Clips and Wiz both making the conference finals; I bet not a lot of people would have predicted that.

Great win by the Grizzlies tonight. The Warriors missed a lot of shots they'd normally make, but Memphis defended really well and Conley was inspirational. They've got a good series going there now.

The Warriors have lost a home game now, so the series has officially begun. Should be very interesting. I think they'll end Game 4 knotted up 2-2, making it a best-of-3 series.
