Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News

Split has asserted a few times that over the last two seasons, we've been at our best with Point Book. And there is actually some truth to that. I think Point Book put Book in control to where he didn't get lost in the lack of offensive scheme (Vogel) or a bad offensive scheme (Budenholzer). Book ...

Re: Suns 2025-26 Roster Breakdown

To Split's point, there were a lot of things wrong with this team the last two seasons other than Point Book. I just don't think Point Book was the flower growing out of the concrete as it is being portrayed.

Re: Suns 2025-26 Roster Breakdown

I think KD was a much bigger reason for the slow offense. Booker played fast in the past…if anyone slowed him down it was CP3 and then KD. Booker can play fast, but the problem lies in making him solely responsible for engineering the team tempo. He can run out on the break, or grab a rebound and t ...

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News

The "Big 3" in 23-24 also got caught up in taking the point guard discourse as a slight against them. KD even had that stupid quote about all three of them being point guards.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News

but I do think it’s interesting that your examples come from a very different era of basketball. I don't think this is an issue of eras. Kobe probably had the ball too much in his hands and still managed to not have to play point guard. I think it’s fair to think Booker isn’t good enough to be James ...

Calling Tyus the Pg was a formality. Book ran the offense. At most Tyus or Brad would just dribble to half court then hand the ball off to him at the top of the 3.
This. Durant ran the offense too. Tyus wasn't used like he was in Memphis, especially when he started for Morant when he went out.

BTW, I am on board with Giddey. A taller, more athletic Ricky Rubio is how he's being described on another board. I was thinking of Rubio too. It's a good comp, although Giddey is better scoring/shooting threat. I don't get this narrative that acts like Booker is just a spot-up shooter if you put ...

I like this move more than the Goodwin move. I thought Goodwin was pretty bad during his stint here; he was better with Washington and LAL.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News

Melton also isn't a PG. He's as much of one as Cason Wallace. Cason is a better ballhandler and has shown more ability to run an offense and set others up. Melton really is an undersized shooting guard. He can D up point guards, and you can get away with him bringing the ball up, but there isn't ...

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News

And remember, it was point book that stole 2 games from the title winning nuggets in 2023. You're retconning that playoff series. Cam Payne upped the tempo, and even the possessions where Payne went off ball, it made/makes a difference having a legitimate point guard next to Book, instead playing ...

I would like to see what the coach that led the Cavs offense with 2 combo guards can do with Booker and Green.
Garland is a point guard.

22/7/3 per 36 last year. Kuminga put up essentially the same numbers as Siakam per 36 last year and I'm sure everyone would take him at the 4.
You can't be serious.

Great post Mori…people who don’t like it are just reaching for things to hate.
I think that is needlessly dismissive. If you don't think Book is a franchise player, I don't think it is unreasonable to be bothered by the extension and to voice your frustration.

I like Book, so I am fine with it.

Maluach looked soft and sloppy. He's 18 and looked it. I don't think it's the age, I think it's his size. I think he is still learning how he can successfully maneuver on the court, with and without the basketball. He just doesn't seem that comfortable with the ball in his hands in live game action ...

The Brea stuff comparing him to all-star level players is a bit much for me lol. I'll be stoked if he's Isaiah Joe. As FF said, it's going to be about his defense. So far, it looks like anyone will be able to attack him without much resistance. And if Ott means what he says about how he wants the ...

Re: Suns select Khaman Maluach #10 overall in 2025 NBA Draft

You all can dismiss his 3-point shooting all you want, but I think it will be a part of his game. To be clear, I'm not saying it will or will not; I just don't get anything from seeing someone do something in an empty gym that he hasn't proven in a game. There has been too many instances where it ...
