Went to bed thinking it was too much to include Bridges instead of Ayton. Woke up feeling the same way. Mikal was a real one. I know it's KD but hard to replace a guy who evolved into a really good and important part of the team who was a dog on defense and never took a night off. Gave his soul to this franchise. Just feels like Mikal should still be here and Ayton should be in Brooklyn. I'm all about winning a chip but feels like we kind of sold out. I'll probably feel better about it in a few days but this isn't the feeling I expected to have acquiring KD.

Regardless, Go Suns!

Also, I haven't looked through the entire thread, but please tell me we're getting an actual medical professional to check out KD and not Isaiah Thomas doing a quick search on WebMD.

We’ve got Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton signed through 2026

Wow, can't believe I'm waking up to this. Honestly I think we gave up too much. If we just could have kept Bridges...
But Brooklyn doesn't make the deal without Bridges.

I like the trade but really hate that we had to send them bridges. I'm kind of reminded of how I felt as a kid when we sent hornacek to phili for Barkley

Probably not. I guess I just don't make this trade with Bridges unless I think it gives us a better than 90% chance of winning it all. And right now, I'm not convinced it does. Without Bridges? Sure. But I think we could have contended better for longer by doing some less drastic moves.

We are mighty thin at SF now. Does TJ get legitimate run here? He is ALWAYS injured. Do we start Okogie for defense? He will have some wide open 3s with the amount of attention Book and Durant get.
Go Suns!

There’s no move on earth that gets you to 90% chance

He’s been playing ok for Brooklyn…he wouldn’t have been in the trade if we didn’t want him. With Luxury tax he cost us some significant money. I think we like him off the bench.

I think we start Craig, though we could also make another acquisition who ultimately starts.

In not trading DA, I wonder if he'll accept his role or feel like he's being put on the backburner while Book and KD get all shots.
Oh no doubt he’ll be fine with it for this season, and be excited and all in on trying to win a title.

Excited about the trade, but, this does hit hard.

Ayton should absolutely feast. A CP3 pick and roll with KD and Book spacing? My goodness, he’s going to have so many easy buckets.

Yea…. Gonna miss the guy, will go down as one of my favorite suns of all time. Total class act and genuinely fun to see on and off the court.

The real question is… when will KD suit up?

After the all star break…Is KD a West all star now? Does the west get to replace him?

This could totally unlock DominAyton 2.0

Well, he does have that tendency to run his mouth like Barkley too.

Except he's not as amusing.

He’s better at basketball than Barkley was though…and that’s saying something.
