I wonder if we could have kept Bridges if Mat had let it go into tomorrow.
Not sure you want to know the answer to that question…Ayton is almost surely in the deal if Mikal isn’t
Not if KD threatened to sit out as the deadline approached.

(I also doubt Ayton would agree to the trade.)
Both are extreme hypotheticals, IMO.

I've never believed Ayton would reject a trade. He not that type of guy.
When Woj says the Suns were trying to keep Bridges, I highly doubt he meant they were offering Ayton.

He's right. I also can't recall getting so much detail about the timeline and other negotiations.

Gotta be Marks/Tsai, no?

I'll never be convinced they could get KD without Bridges or Ayton, but good for you that we'll never know for sure.

An underrated part of this trade is now we don't have to hear about LeBron breaking the scoring record or the Lakers 3-team trade for an entire week.

Wow, what a way to wake up. Like others, very conflicted about the deal. HATE HATE HATE losing Mikal, but I get it. HATE HATE HATE losing CamJ but he was always going to be part of the deal. In not trading DA, I wonder if he'll accept his role or feel like he's being put on the backburner while Book and KD get all shots.

I worry a lot about depth and defense. We've also gotten worse from 3. I'm expecting nothing from TJ Warren so if he plays at all, it's a win. But losing two younger guys you draft and develop is always hard. They were part of the turnaround, have a lot of great basketball ahead of them and were easy to root for. If this goes sideways, we'll really regret giving them up.

I hope KD is healthy and ready to play. I think he is, I think he's wanted out of BK and only wanted Phoenix. It's exciting to be a destination, other players will want to play here on the cheap. Just a matter of who we can get right now in trades/buyouts.

SF Craig/Warren
PF Durant/Saric/Wainright
C Ayton/Landale/Biyombo
SG Booker/D.Lee/Shamet/Okogie
PG Paul/Payne/S.Lee

I would hope they're active in the buyout market and can pick up some bench depth. Looks like the best starting lineup in the league though. This also takes the pressure off Chris Paul to score points in crunch time.

Stupid fucking move. We aren't going to have any assets when booker is in him prime and those old farts retire.
Just waking up to this so I'm sure someone has said this, but... if we don't win in the next 3 years, Booker will be traded to recoup some of the lost assets.
Go Suns!

Just thought of this..

Does Sarver still sell the team if the Nets agree to trade KD to the Suns last summer?

Didn’t think he had a choice and was part of the league punishment.

A few questions:

This seems like the kind of trade that could've been made at any time going back to the summer. They got Mikal, Cam and the picks. They didn't take our bench/ending contracts and some 2nds. So JJ may have been holding firm, negotiating with other teams and Ishbia came in and pushed the trade thru? Does that deal get done without the new owner? Would JJ have rather kept the young core together and make a Collins trade or something more marginal?

If Ishbia got involved and pushed the deal thru, is he a meddling owner now? Does JJ get any credit for the deal or trying to pull the 3team deal with ATL and DET?

Also, for some silver lining - Mikal is now in Brooklyn while Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are with the Knicks. That's pretty cool.

The thing that is the most shocking is that it happened so suddenly. With zero leaks.
This cracked me up... Where's FLEX at when the actual trade drops? *crickets*

Losing my favorite player is a real punch in the dick though.
Mine hurts too but holy shit

Idk how to feel. That’s a fucking lot for a 34 year old. But he’s fucking good if he can just stay healthy

WOW

I said you pay top dollar for superstars and they should take up the majority of your cap space

Book Durant DA and CP3 that’s a lot of cold hard cash

Hope CP3 can stay fresh this way and DA stays engaged

Wow, can't believe I'm waking up to this. Honestly I think we gave up too much. If we just could have kept Bridges...
