I think the Suns are playing .500 ball over their past 10 games, right?

Not quite. 4-6 over their last 10.

You're right. They will have to win at Sac to bump it up to 5-5. Still better than I thought they would be at this point in the season, especially losing bledsoe early on, Bookers injury, and changing coaches midstream (does 3 games in count as midstream)?

That last play was amazing. Is it the highlight of our awful season?

If you haven't seen it already, this page (among others) has a video with a replay of that crazy last second alley-oop to win the game at the buzzer.

another night with me crashing fore the game finished  . I dropped to sleep in the 3rd so was avoiding the forum this morning until I watch over the game then made the mistake of checking one of my fantasy teams with Chriss and saw the score lol.
watching the 4th was funny just now because after knowing it ended 99 - 97 I was trying to guess how it played out. early guess was Booker game winning basket and wondering if he hit a buzzer beater first game back. so when he fouls out I'm like :? , I figured we missed free throws so wasn't surprised when TJ missed but at 97 - 97 with 0.6 secs left I was beginning to think that I saw the wrong score because those tip plays hardly ever work. as everyone has said crazy ending

I am happy with how Chriss played

Sounds painful. What's the recovery time for a pulled Wiggins?

Any particular reason? I kinda like what Evans is doing this year. His improved jumper makes him a sneaky good FA target for us next year.
Jumping sideways to take 3 and clearly draw a foul is one that comes to mind. Although, if he played for the Suns, I'm sure I would like him if he played as well as this year.

this is why i say Warren would not be a starter on a playoff contending team
he's a 2 point specialist
the same for Troy Daniels -- but a 3 point specialist
they'd work well coming off the bench together

Booker is impressing with his passing skills -- the best on the team
of course, it helps when multiple players are constantly running at him
a lethal shooter and passer can single-handedly disrupt a team's defense
mastering it will be his path to super-stardom

that out-of-bounds play will be problematic for the nba
now, inbounding players will shoot for the basket and it will be good as long as a teammate touches it
sure, defensive players can goal-tend it
but it makes for an awkward situation that may cause some injuries

they should immediately add a rule that the inbounds pass touching the goal before a player is a violation

What an ending!

My favorite thing about that play is Bender making the pass. On. The. Money.

It’s not as easy as it looks to put the ball just over the cilinder and within the dunker’s reach, Bender did a great pass. Not expecting to see it more often, given that it is easier to swat the ball away that dunking it if both teams are expecting it. Memphis left a single man covering the basket.

1. imo, over the cylinder within a center or leaper's reach is very do-able
2. it's hard to swat away because the play is designed for the receiver to stand to the side of the basket so that the defense must stand under the basket. it would also work if the receiver stood before the basket and dunked it backwards.

there aren't a lot of under-a-second opportunities but it's definitely an advantage play. (if it's over a second, the other team could do the same thing with the time left)

If it was very doable, why aren't more teams executing it successfully?

I expect us to run this play after every single out of bounds for the rest of the season. It's an automatic 2. /green

the distinction is
1. the inbounder can simply shoot for the basket
2. the receiver can goal-tend

big distinctions
the nba must make the inbound touching the rim before the player a violation

Once upon a time we tried a similar play for Cedric Ceballos at the end of a regular season game at Portland. The pass was a little too high and sailed just over Ceballos's reach. Barkley got to the errant pass, shot it and made it as time expired. I think that was the game KJ injured himself lifting Oliver Miller in celebration.
