That's a great point.
Unfortunately New Orleans has no big contracts that are expiring besides Cousins. We'd have to take on either Asik or Solomon Hill's deal to make a trade work. Or we'd have to take all of Ajinca, Rondo, jameer, Jackson, diallo, and Cunningham. Can't see new Orleans dumping their whole bench for Monroe.

Yeah, it would be difficult to make the money work. I wonder if the NOLA is willing to pay the L-Tax? That may influence what deals they're willing to do, as they are right at the L-Tax threshold.

Alternatively, I would also see if they want Tyson Chandler.

The arena is 1/2 empty most nights. I don't think the L-Tax is in the equation.
Go Suns!

What if they are granted an injury exception?

The announcers mentioned that they wanted to fight each other the day before in practice. Yet they come out and let other teams punch them in the mouth so to speak and don't seem to blink. See: coaching.

McDo better be on the phone with New Orleans to ship Monroe there ASAP. That's such an obvious deal that needs done.

Wish we would have grabbed Trey Burke instead of Mike James or Isiah Canaan. He's killing people.

Another gross game. Can't wait for Houston Sunday

I'll give Jackson props on showing energy and not playing down to the level of his teammates.
Obviously, the only thing NO really needs is a big who can score around the basket. :? And we could totally get back ... Omer Asik?

We need to be laying the groundwork for a trade when Davis asks to be traded this summer.

Why not just have lineups with 5 fast good shooters?
Uh, rebounding and rim protection?
I haven't noticed our 'gangly awkward 7-footer out there who just camps at the line shooting 3s' helping with rebounding and rim protection that much, and I haven't noticed GS's wings hurting them in those areas. It's about getting the best basketball players you can, not getting guys on an even height distribution.

It was a broad answer for a broad question, but if you want to go into specifics...

Our "'gangly awkward 7-footer" barely qualifies as a big man, he needs to put a lot of weight and muscle to keep him from being pushed around. That itself could answer the question about true big men utility when you look at it beyond a simplistic height distribution (your words, not mine), but we can also add that GS not only have 5 "fast good shooters", they have elite talent and both shooting and transition with the ball speed, and their wings also are elite on playing above their size, kind of what Shawn Marion allowed us to do back in the good old days.

And the SSOL Suns can tell what happens when you dissmis reboundind and paint protection but can't put together a complete rotation with REALLY fast and REALLY GOOD shooters. That's where they fell short, it was about personnel not system. Keeping JJ, adding Iguodala and you can set up a "line up death", but on the other hand, one-two weak links and you are doom, most likely on the boards and defending the opposite bigman, as long as he is above average too.

"Getting the best basketball players you can" is a broad proposition (let's see whom are the "best" players that I can get in Mexico) that do not realize that if the other team ALSO CAN match your "best" and then deeply exploit a mismatch, you likely will lose. Now if you mean BEST OVERALL, then you have Golden State.
