2nd rounders are amazing

Just currency to pick up players from teams trying to salary dump.

Nice plan, solid targets and value, if at least one out of this came to fruition, it would be great.

Supposedly S.A. is interested in Bradley. He is the perfect player for their system. I don't know what they would give up and if they would sign him for big money but it's a player/team combination that makes a lot of sense.

I don't see how any of those could possibly be "great." What do we get in any of these trades that would make a meaningful impact? Granted, we don't give up much in any of these deals either, but none of them constitutes anything more than trivial tinkering, as far as I can see.

It's laughable that McD thinks anyone wants to come and play here. This dude is barely treading water.

They are all just straight salary dumps outside of ulis for Troy Williams. Would clear a lot of space for this summer and next season. What you do with the space would be pretty crucial to the overall result.

I guess Meyers Leonard is under contract for 2/20. I think I'd rather have Dudley's contract

Likely would be best to swing trades that allow us to take on salary in return for assets. Nobody is signing here unless we overpay.

Trading Chandler or Dudley would clear space for this summer, but not for '19, when they both expire. Len expires this year. Daniels and Ulis expire at the same time as Chandler and Dudley, not that their salaries are enough to matter. So unless you're planning on spending big in free agency this summer, none of these trades gives us much, and the latter two don't give us anything even if you are.

Right. Cap space would be this summer and during the season next year. You'd have to take advantage of teams trying to shed salary.

Hehe, ok, I overstated my toughts, but for a starving fan looking for some glimpse of direction, it would be.

1-I think Favors is as good as gone from Utah, so we would get a front seat to the auction and to to see in advance what he can do for us, he looks like what we were supposed to get from Chandler, so swap them both would be an upgrade, with the added bonus of finally dumping Chriss, who looks to me very morris-ish as every new “incident” happen. If Favors walks or demands too much, we still dumped Chandler and get a second for it.

2-Dudley is personal favorite, but have a hefty price tag. Len is as good as gone, so we are going to need another center to comitee with Williams and Chandler, Meyers would provide a different dimension from the other two, Vonleh could develop into something down the line.

3- Out of sheer nost, I want Frye back, specially if Dudley is gone, familiar faces to better times. He would also brings shootings to the 5 spot and could help Bender to get loose. And we get to stop paying the Len scholarship, finally comin to fruition after four pasivd years, only to see him gone to highest bidder, I think he would return to his inconsistent and erratic play, once he secures another ticket meal. He still is under very bad playing time and role administration, but out of nowhere is producing like never before, maybe something finally clicked in, maybe he is the classic contract chaser.

4- Ulis is overrated around here, I won’t miss him much. Although, this is my least favorite move, and not what I would like as an isolated move. I would be a very happy man if we pull 2 out of the 3 first Informer’s propositions. Going all three would cause a logjam upfront, but still, better than we have now. If I can only get to choose one, it would be #1, then #1 again, twice on sunday, then #3: and long behind #2.

I concede than saying “great” maybe should be reserved to home runs or triples, but this four moves are still singles in my book, and if you put together a series of singles together, is very likely that you get to score (build) as well as with a home run.

imo, we're good (uh bad, which is good)
we don't need no stinking trades
all we have to do is keep stinking
and keep our eye on the prize -- a top 3 pick

we'll attract the right free agent once we've got a couple of home grown stars to brag about

in summation: our fate comes down to 2 words
suck and luck
and i'm optimistic because we're really getting the first one down

We've got one potential star in Booker. We really, like REALLY, need to get a second one in this draft. The likes of Jackson and Bender would look so much better playing next to a couple of star-level players.
Oh, and a good coach and system to tie this all together. That would also be handy from next season.

I agree with this take.

I think wherever the Suns fall in the lottery will dictate the direction they take in trades and free agency.

If they draft a pg, then they won't trade for big time pg. If they draft a center, obviously they won't go in that direction. It will be interesting and I'm glad that Ryan decided to move the timeline up, for everyone's sanity, players, coaches and fans.

Maybe Portland does that trade, but I don't see the other teams listed making those moves.

Why would Houston give up an athletic wing AND a pick for a guard who can't shoot?
Chriss is not he kind of player Utah wants.
Cleveland is looking for a big fix, not tinkering with the roster.

None of those move the needle for me. #1 I would like if I wanted to improve this season. But i absolutely don’t want to improve our record unless it’s because we acquired a star. So, no.

And 2nd round picks are fools good 95% of the time. That’s a waste of paperwork that needs to get done.
