I also think SDC is taking a little too much heat. He obviously has the contrarian view by saying that McDonough stinks and should be gone. But he's been entirely polite about it and doesn't engage in any personal attacks. He has every right to his opinion. He isn't an idiot or a troll.

If we go out and get Pau, or if McD turns out to struggle later in his GM tenure, maybe SDC will get the last laugh. As it is, I like having SDC here, but if anybody is tired of hearing what he has to say, we always have an Ignore feature.

Don't forget passing back out after securing offensive rebounds.

If we get Pau, is all forgiven and McD is alright again?

But that's under the former mindset where 6M is not the going rate for any role player minimally skilled.

Also, today the full MLE is 8% of the salary cap whereas historically it represented 10%, so full MLE contracts are less harmful by definition, especially considering the lower raises and years allowed.

The problem, like always, is spending it on undeserving players, but in this case I believe PJ has earned it. We'll see if he can live up to it the next two years. Maintaining the 3pt % will be one of the keys.
if parsons and hayward deserve the max, then pj deserves the MLE? that's the thinking here.

the only reason to get pau is if the suns keep last year's team intact. with frye gone, i think pau should go to OKC.

Under 5M per used to be the going rate for players like Bowen, Raja, Thabo, Green, etc. As we are discussing in the other thread, that range seems to have changed and is not realistic anymore, but we'll see what happens from now on.

Still hoping to God that we have something with Love lined up from before we even let Frye walk away and thats the reason we're going to need another little guard....

Maybe this contract seems a million too much for some of you, but in fact since we are dealing with a inflationary salary cap(+new national tv deal coming) all those long term contracts that are signed this offseason may not look so bad 2 years down the road.

That Bowen contract adjusted for inflation is Tuckers contract.

That definitely applies to Bledsoe`s max and to possible Dragic ~15 million deal also.

1M per more than what one would expect is easily tolerable, especially given the projected cap expansion. I like the signing, but others who thought he was worth around 3M per may differ as the jump starts to be quite significative.

I agree to some extent on Bledsoe-Dragic. Those two could easily end up meaning 45-50% of the salary cap for the next 3-4 seasons. Since I consider them a worthy 2/3 of a Big Three, I'm ok with that, but the rest of the roster would need to be managed really carefully.
