The fact that he was missing a game would not be able to be hidden. Sometimes the speculation is more damaging than just telling what happened. If they did not say this, people would be asking if he hit a guy or what?Superbone wrote:I don't like the fact that the situation was leaked and not kept internal.

This may be the worst article about the Suns I’ve ever read. Who is Greg Moore? Guy should be fired and never be allowed to write about the Suns ever again. I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with an entire article before quite like that.

Don't know if it is the worst ever, but it is lacking in many ways. Moore is the Republic's new sports columnist, and has been underwhelming when writing about the Suns.specialsauce wrote:https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ ... 317375002/

He has called the firing of Watson "unexcusable" several times, and did a unsatisfactory job of covering Connie Hawkins' services.
Re: this article, there were a number of factors leading to the resurgence of the Suns in the late 1980s.
The trade for Kevin Johnson certainly helped, as well as the huge free agency signing of Tom Chambers (which he doesn't mention).
He also neglects the behind-the-scenes work of Cotton Fitzsimmons to rebuild the Suns roster, plus Jerry Colangelo's efforts to put to together a new corporate ownership group to buy the team from the tight-fisted former owners and provide an economic foundation to successfully compete again.
In general, Moore's takes on the Suns are very shallow and lack in research. He has a 12-year-old's understanding of the franchise.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Interesting, Gambo. Derrick Rose is going to look weird in Purple & Orange. *ducks*

Bender's numbers in 4 February games: 13.5-6.5-2.5 on .514/.500/.833 shooting splits.
It seems like getting called out has lit a bit of a fire under him.

Suns remaining schedule:
Almost definitely losses:
@GS
@Utah
vsPor (back to back)
@OKC
vsCle
@Utah
vsGS
@Cle
vsBos
@Hou
@GS
vsGS
Probable losses:
vsDen
vsLaC
@NO
@Mia (back to back)
vsOKC
vsDet
vsLaC
vsNO
Winnable games:
@Mem
@Atl
@Cha
@Orl (back to back)
vsSac
@Dal
We could conceivably win 5 games or less the rest of the way. Of our 6 winnable games, 5 are on the road. I can't imagine anyone has a more difficult schedule the rest of the way than us.

If you think of him like a late lottery rookie this year, he's having a good season. Ups and downs, but he is showing progress.Shabazz wrote:Bender's numbers in 4 February games: 13.5-6.5-2.5 on .514/.500/.833 shooting splits.

The trick is to watch on mute with Yakety Sax scoring it. Really works well.O_Gardino wrote:Thanks for the breakdown, S[plit. It's going to be a tough 26 games to stomach.

(5 and 21 will take some divine intervention)
i think 5 is what it will take to get a top 3 pick done
i"ll be checking them off (5 of 5 available as of today)
having something to root for is what sports is about

It'd be great if we just started Ulis/Reed/House/Peters/Chriss in those 6 winnable games and just played to win the other 20. We'd probably go 2-24

they'll be working injuries and resting players for their own purposes (more coaches are becoming popovitch-stic)
ANY of the remaining games are winnable
