Won't be at the game this year. Ex-wife is out of town so I have the kids and all the homework & practices that accompany it. Usually my Monday nights are free!

From ESPN:
"The Suns' 50th season has been stained by franchise lows, and with just games at New Orleans and Memphis remaining in February, Phoenix is approaching another one. If the Suns lose both of those games, February 2018 will mark their first month without a victory in franchise history (minimum five games played)."

Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

That's a bummer. How old are yours? Do you have a regular babysitter for things like this? How often do you usually get a "night off"?carey wrote:Won't be at the game this year. 12 & 10 in May. My mom will watch them if I need to get away for a bit. The ex has them Monday & Wednesday after school till bedtime and every other weekend they go stay with her. So those are my "nights off" hehe.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:That's a bummer. How old are yours? Do you have a regular babysitter for things like this? Just me, or does it seem way too low to have the Pels only favored by 10.5 tonight?

Well they did play an overtime game last night, they might be a bit tired
Re: Game Day: Suns (18-43) @ Pelicans (33-26), Mon 2/26/18
Ah, didn't realize that. Makes sense now. Our average over the last 10 games is a -16.9. And that includes a win by 14 points in there. If you only look at our games against playoff/borderline teams, we are -22.7. I can't believe we average losing by over 20. Ugh. What is the worse margin of victory/loss average for a season, ever?
Re: Game Day: Suns (18-43) @ Pelicans (33-26), Mon 2/26/18
Look at the bright side. At least our team isn’t called the pelicans.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.
Re: Game Day: Suns (18-43) @ Pelicans (33-26), Mon 2/26/18
It looks like it was Dallas in 92/93 with -15.2 per game. Good news everyone! We aren't the worst ever. In fact, over the past 70 years of NBA/BAA/ABA basketball, there are 44 worse full year margin of victories worse than ours. Go us.
EDIT--On another "Go us" point, we will likely have the highest winning percentage of any of the teams above us. Flip side means that we probably have a worse average margin of loss for the games we lose.

With Payton in the lineup, our only big loss was the Warriors. In non-warriors games with Payton, we are losing by an average of 8.25. Inclusive of the Warriors game, we average losing by 15.8. I think the Warriors game was an anomaly, and I expect us to be in a lot closer games for the remainder of the season. Our other PGs this season have mostly been a huge step down from the average NBA player.Indy wrote:Ah, didn't realize that. Makes sense now. Our average over the last 10 games is a -16.9. Really low sample size there, but it isn't much different than the full season which is at 8.87.O_Gardino wrote:With Payton in the lineup, our only big loss was the Warriors. Can't you just park the kid in front of an iPad and walk away??Indy wrote:Mori will soon learn there is no such thing anymore. So those are my "nights off" hehe.

Around the age of 4 or 5, I was able to get my oldest to sit for cartoons while I slept that extra hour on Saturday mornings. He's very social, though. I think a lot of kids sit for cartoons younger than that.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Can't you just park the kid in front of an iPad and walk away??Indy wrote:Mori will soon learn there is no such thing anymore. So those are my "nights off" hehe.

I know this wasn't a serious question, but take a look at all of the info you can related to screen time (tv, ipad, whatever) and ADD/ADHD in kids. I am sure it changes over time, but when I was doing my research, it was really critical for kids under 2-3 to avoid almost all screens.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Can't you just park the kid in front of an iPad and walk away??Indy wrote:Mori will soon learn there is no such thing anymore. So those are my "nights off" hehe.

When our youngest was that age (old enough to get himself up in the mornings) so that I didn't have to be up at 6 am on Saturday, we realized we forgot what that was like. That was also a huge reason for us to stop having kids and not wanting to go back to that sleep deprivation!O_Gardino wrote:Around the age of 4 or 5, I was able to get my oldest to sit for cartoons while I slept that extra hour on Saturday mornings.
