Totally agree. The perfect letter. The perfect way to make the transition. I also agree that it would have been nice a week ago so he didn't hold the entire NBA world hostage.EDC wrote:That PR. Man that letter was superbly written. Probably about the best way he could have done it. Well except having released it about a week ago. That would have been nice.
Can't fault Lebron for going home. I'm just really happy for the Cavs fans. If he would have gone back to Miami after all the media hype it would have been tough.

At least the Cavs won't have yet another 1st pick any time soon.
Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
Seriously, if the Suns don't make the playoffs this year, God forbid, they have to hire that guy who sits in the backroom watching the pingpong balls for the the Cavs, and the guy from the Magic to sit in the audience. They are money and could ensure a #1 pick.m1chal wrote:At least the Cavs won't have yet another 1st pick any time soon.

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
Lebron just increased his potential post career earnings ten fold. Did anyone else read that Bickley article?
I mean, seriously, how much did Lebron just raise his "likeability"?
Not to mention the idea of chasing another title in Miami probably BORED him.

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
If nothing else, Lebron learnt a lot from how he left Cleveland and moved to Miami. He handled the free agency thing better imo (letting his agent do most of the work while he went away) and that was a classy way to announce his move (soooo much better than the Decision).
And add me to the list of people who will be happy to watch it all go pear-shaped in Miami.

So you're saying he would have less of a chance of winning a title in Cleveland now with Irving and Love than he did if he stayed in Miami?

If he's playing in Minnesota, then yeah, of course he won't. But LeBron+Irving+Love would definitely be the best trio in the East.SDC wrote:Love wont help lebron win a title in cleveland.Flagrant Fowl wrote:??SDC wrote:sorry, but Love and Irving wont help lebron win a title in cleveland.

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
Is a fair point. Once is the finals, Love and Irving are very vulnerable defensively. Imagine what Tony Parker and the big men rotation from SA would do to those two.
Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
I can't believe Bosh is going to stay in Miami. Why wouldn't he want to get out of there and go to Houston? Miami isn't going to be a -horrible- team with Bosh+Wade as their top 2 players, but they won't be a contender, either. Maybe Bosh just doesn't want to take a bunch of criticism for bailing out when things are tough? Maybe he loves playing with Wade and Spo? Maybe he just loves living in Miami? Maybe Miami is going to grab another big FA with their cap space? Who knows. But it does puzzle me.

Why not? Miami and Bosh need each other.

Also, 30M is nothing to sneeze at, no matter how rich you are.

Her, if they are going to call you soft, past your prime, and culprit of your team's failures, they might as well do it while you get an extra 30mil, for your troubles

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
So, the Lebron's deal was for TWO years with an opt-out after year one?
Not sure, if that is better than nothing, because it force you to hurry up decisions. Per example, if you are the Cavs' FO, would you trade Wiggins for inmediate help, knowing it could backfure two years from now?
In the pursue for KLove, there is no way you get him to opt-in for his second year until the nect summer after LBJ makes his move, not to even mention an extension please.
So, if Cleveland goes all-in around Lebron, they can end up empty handed two years from now, Miami style, if they keep composure and grow organically, James could get desperate and leave you anyway.
Again, maybe it's better than nothing but is hardly congruent with the letter he wrote. "I'm coming home, but only for two years in case they do any wrong.

He's not leaving again, he's timing it with the next CBA (reportedly).

Lip service, of course it aligns on the financial side, but basketball wise, it will trigger a two
year long Lebron watch... Once again.

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs
It would be an epic mistake to trade Wiggins. EPIC. Even if it is for Love.
