Why no Kenny? Just the inexperience, or do you still hate him from the old rivalry with the Rockets?

Mostly inexperience. I think we need an experienced coach at this time. I think Kokoskov might be my leading candidate right now.

I’ve never understood why people in Phoenix care so much about what Gambo thinks.

I don’t know this for a fact but i don’t think radio guys in other sports cities don’t have nearly the same influence over their sports teams fans that Gambo does.

It just looks really bad. Bickleys take on it was great. A cheap organization interviews an expensive candidate for 2! Days and then the candidate withdraws his name voluntarily after going through all of that. It just stinks of them being too cheap. If it was another organization maybe not but they have quite the reputation.

Are you in Phoenix? If so, do you listen to him regularly?

He’s a so-so insider with the other valley sports, but with the Suns he is always on the money. When he says something definitively, he’s not speculating.

In this case, it was purely his opinion. He did not make any indication that the Suns are remotely interested in Kidd.

Apparently Bud moved on once he heard they were going to interview Fizdale. Not sure if he was offended they were going to continue the process and not offer him the job immediately or what.

So they all but admit to not being thorough enough in their previous hires and they come out and say that they will interview multiple candidates and are doing so, yet they are still doing it wrong? Ok then.

Strike while the iron's hot. No one expected Budz to be available, much less ask permission to specifically speak with us.

Of course Budz could've been asking for 10mil a year and GM title. Don't know that. And if that's the case then we were right to politely decline. But if a deal could've been made and we said, "Nah, we're gonna shop around"....?

It's one thing to be starving and see a turd on the ground and immediately pick it up rather than looking around first to see if theres anything better.

It's another to come across a fresh steak and let it sit while you look around at some turds.

The first time they were guilty of the former. This time they're guilty of the latter.

It's like when they committed to rebuilding, and now they're saying they're done rebuilding they are going to make a splash in FA. It doesn't have to be one extreme or another. They can be smart with their decisions. I guess that's asking too much of this circus.

This is definitely one way to look at it. I guess I dont think its extreme to do more homework this time, it's not like Bud was a guaranteed homerun hire by any stretch. He had a decent run in ATL, with a team full of good vets in a bad conference. But he's not Popovich or Stevens, so I'm not gonna complain about not getting a guy who obviously didnt want the job bad enough to do whatever he had to do to get it.
