Suns Coach 2018-19

Discussion of the league and of our favorite team.

So who do you want to see as a coach in 2018-19 (and beyond)?

Grass isn't always greener: Triano--What more could you ask with the group of guys we had this year and the development we have seen?

If the rationale is that that we turned Budz away because he wanted input, I can't imagine why we'd be talking to Kidd.

And Kidd will also want to be paid. Just hire Kokoskov or Vogel, that's where I'm at.

As much as I want to react, I bet the truth is every team with an opening has "talked to" 15 or 20 people. I talk to recruiter 2 or three times a week, and I'm not even looking for a job. Phone calls happen. News dudes will report them as news.

I would not read much into all these names being floated around. Sometimes the agent for a coaching candidate, or the candidate himself, is the one who spreads the word that their guy has "talked to" various teams. They are trying to build up their client's reputation and get people talking about them. Look at Kidd going on local media to do interviews and so on. These guys know there are a very limited number of jobs available and they are competing for a spot.

Suns FO mum on the rumor that they will interview Dick Vitale for their head coaching job.

Dickie V has previous NBA head coaching experience and knows the college talent real well.

Plus, they won't have to call him because HE CAN YELL REAL LOUD FROM WHEREVER HE IS, BABY!!
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

I’ve got to go 10/10!!
Any gif containing Sarah Michelle Geller as Buffy and with a relevant basketball theme wins hands down for me ;)

To be fair to them they have a bit of time before the draft as a couple more weeks hopefully gives them the due dilligence time they need to perform a riggerous process before the new coach is appointed...................
Man that sounded even convincing to me when I wrote it, I wonder if that will be the line they use when they bring out their ‘pre appointed’ pick.

Next stage of interviews will include a power point presentation, a talent contest and a swimsuit competition.

Where is Robot to write an article about how the Suns will be interviewing Cotton's corpse for the job? Or interviewing Josh Jackson to be a player/coach?

ShelC wrote:Budz says he wants the Knicks job because he's "sick of losing". ATL is probably going the tank route which is why he wants out. He met with us because we're trying to win games. NY is his top choice (?) and he wants to live in NY. Again, without knowing all of the details, sounds like he was ours to lose and we let him go. If Budz goes to NY, there's still the Orlando job, Charlotte and maybe Milwaukee for a guy like Fiz to choose from. Not that I'm convinced he's really that great.

Maybe he just prefers the Knicks gig. I don't know about it being "ours to lose." The Knicks job is the biggest stage available.

Had an OK stint in LA. Won 56 games one year.

Talking to them doesn't mean they are going after them. You think they really intend to pursue all 10 or whatever coaches they've talked to?
