That #10 pick would sure be nice to have.

You don't hire a coach to make your picks for the organization. You don't pass on generational talent for a dice roll on a Euro.
The thing is, we're in the perfect position to make the right choice. Kokoskov has the total insight into Doncic that nobody else has and we have the ability to find out a lot more about Ayton before the draft. A dominant center next to Booker would be glorious though. We have a chance to have Shaq/Kobe 2.0 as was prophesied.

I can't see a way to do that. Doncic would have to fall and you'd have to find a team that wants to win now...except we don't have a ton of win now pieces.

Memphis would be the team. Draft Ayton at 1, see some combination of JJJ/Bagley/Porter/Bamba go 2-3 and Memphis say, let's just go all in on Conley/Gasol. We'd have to use our assets(#16, future picks, Chriss/Bender) to get some win now pieces to send with maybe Warren.

But we'd need to find a team with win now pieces that fit Memphis. Then we'd need that team to want to retool through the draft and prefer what we can offer over the #4 pick.

I think the chances are very very low.

neither the kings nor atlanta wants doncic, IMO. suns should also prepare an offer to atlanta if doncic falls to #3 or later.

Ayton or Doncic? That’s really tough but it is really awesome that we get to choose which one. 8-)

Kinda nice that the top 3 guys in the draft all have real connections to the team/area. All 3(Ayton/Bagley/Doncic) I'm sure will be pulling for Phoenix and not just because we have the #1 spot.

The #1 pick? I don’t believe it!
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

Why wouldn't they want him? I think he makes a lot of sense in both places. They may prefer Ayton, but Doncic would be nice for both teams.

Vlade will gladly take the best Euro basketball prospect ever if the Suns are foolish enough to pass on him.

Foolish enough? You like him better than Ayton?

doncic is high floor, midlevel ceiling guy. his talents would be wasted in sacramento and a rebuilding hawks. and both kings and atlanta would be better off with bagley or JJJ anyways

and we know both the kings and rebuilding hawks need young assets. time for mcdo to unload some of those extra young picks/prospects for doncic at #2 or #3.

Let’s go all in, take Doncic with the 1st, get that 4th from Memphis and take Best Big Available. They could use a reload with #15 #31 # 59, Warren, Chriss and Dudley for #4 & Parsons. A man can hope. Can we?
Just no.
Why not?

I know is an aberration of contract but it’s also just a matter of resources’ allocation. If we are going to blow up our cap bringing over Jordan/Drummond/Maxed-Capela/Kemba-Gordon, we might as well take the rookie contract and pay Parson to be our human victory cigar. Throw just some luck in play and we could end up rehabilitating him enough to produce from the bench.

I’m also aware that we could sit up on our hands as well and hope for the best next year, but that’s an unlikely path for a GM on the brink of getting the axe with an impatient owner.

If we are going to use our chips, what do you prefer for the next 3years? Some of the 2018 glorious FA and RFA class, trade for overpriced players or roll the dice on your preferred choice out of Bagley, Bamba or JJJ? The cost is Parsons and Warren, because Chriss would actually be inventory cleaning, and the picks... well Memphis have to have a win (maybe just throw a second, not both), but still is turning dimes into a dollar.

Actually, I do think Memphis might be willing to part with the pick.

Do you think a Warren + Bender + 16 pick + milwaukee pick for Sacto's #2 gets it done?
