Didn't Saric hang out in Europe for a while, too?

Yep. He was drafted in 2012 and came over in '14. This would be the highest profile player to do it since Rubio who sled to #5 in his draft.O_Gardino wrote:Didn't Saric hang out in Europe for a while, too?

You keep ignoring my challenge. If you honestly believe it’s possible to convince sac/atl with this line of argument, try it on their fans.SDC wrote:rubio was drafted in 2009, but started playing only in 2011. good luck for the next two yrs sac atl.

Crikey! Orlando TRADED UP to get rid of Saric and get Elfrid Payton.SDC wrote:yea, but he was a draft and stash player at #12O_Gardino wrote:Didn't Saric hang out in Europe for a while, too?
Directly after Payton:June 26, 2014: Traded by the Orlando Magic with a 2015 2nd round draft pick (Willy Hernangomez was later selected) and a 2017 1st round draft pick (De'Aaron Fox was later selected) to the Philadelphia 76ers for Elfrid Payton.

Maybe you're on to something, Cap. There could be a whole message board dedicated to pitching trades to fans of other teams with some back and forth until they came to an agreement. Then pass those approved trades on to their respective teams. Basically, crowd source them.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

That's what the 6ers did. Well look how hard it is for teams to get superstars to pair with other difference makers after they are picked. LeBron and AD are good recent examples. They got too good to quickly to get another star in the draft.Hermen wrote:That's what the 6ers did. Just leave Phoenix and trades out of it. If Doncic says he is going to stay in Europe for at least two years and does not want to play for the teams drafting, how far does he fall? Remember that this is a deep draft and there are many options. How many teams are going to pass on what is available, to draft a player who they will have to strong arm (with no real leverage) to play for them?Cap wrote:You keep ignoring my challenge. Sacramento will take Bagley instead. He will be a great fit for them and more of a position of need.
Atlanta will probably take Bamba. His length is going to shoot him up the charts. If he shows any offensive ability in workouts, its a safe, safe pick.
Memphis wants to retool, not rebuild. They will take Jackson maybe. If Porter checks out they could take him.
Dallas people have already been talking about taking Porter. If he is there, I believe they will take him. Again, Doncic in two years or Porter now.
Orlando. They will be thrilled that Young is there. Doncic in two years or Young now. They take Young.
Chicago. Mikal Bridges is maybe the most complete player in this draft. They need a quality asset. They could also go with Carter. I do not think they try to go with Doncic in two years instead of one of those two.
New York. They will have Mikal Bridges or Carter sitting there. Wendell Carter is a nice piece along site KP. Bridges is a great SF.
Philly. I think Philly says that they have enough youth. They can afford to take Doncic and wait or use him as trade bait.
Its no guarantee that he falls this far, but it is possible. Its not that he is not that good. Its just that there are also alot of other good options in this draft.

I doubt he falls past 4, but Dallas is definitely not passing on him

OK, then we’re not getting Doncic. End of ridiculous discussion.JCSunsfan wrote:Just leave Phoenix and trades out of it.Cap wrote:You keep ignoring my challenge. Tatum is a small forward. Markkanen is a shooter. I don't either really factor into a conversation about Ayton.JCSunsfan wrote:Two athletic, big, skilled players in last years draft, but they were overly ripped for their defense.
Markkanen and Tatum.
Ayton is the choice and its not even that close.

If it were you, Doncic or Ayton?INFORMER wrote:Tatum is a small forward. Markkanen is a shooter. I don't either really factor into a conversation about Ayton.JCSunsfan wrote:Two athletic, big, skilled players in last years draft, but they were overly ripped for their defense.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Re: With the FIRST pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns select...
Yesterday, I would have said Doncic. But today's reports about not being certain about coming over...if that is the case, regardless of what team is drafting him, then give me Ayton.

Except I believe Doncic wants to play for the Suns. His agent said so anyway.INFORMER wrote:Yesterday, I would have said Doncic. But today's reports about not being certain about coming over...if that is the case, regardless of what team is drafting him, then give me Ayton.

Shouldn’t he be real certain by draft time? Seems dumb to be so wishy washy this close to the draft.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.
Re: With the FIRST pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns select...
I too believe Duffy is just trying to steer Doncic to Phoenix if he can, and why wouldn't he? It's probably best for all parties involved, now will it happen? Doubt it, don't think McD has the stones to pass on a big from his own backyard.
