Yikes, your whole post is based on just one game?
Nah. No way. I've watched him many times (you know, being from Spain and a fan of Ream Madrid) and there's no denying that the things he has done at his age are unheard of in Europe since Petrovic. But the EL final is a significant example given the stakes if one looks at more than numbers. You see people throwing around names like Harden, Bird or Manu... Granted, Ayton is probably not going to be Robinson, Ewing or Hakeem, but in his case, the athleticism is obviously there and he doesn't lack skill either. Are his alleged mental blocks true? Does he have the desire to become trascendent? Luka certainly does, but he also comes with legitimate shortcomings as a prospect if you are expecting NBA superstardom from your #1 pick.
always maintained that doncic is a nice player, but the scouts have been overrating him. would honestly be SHOCKED at this point if suns pick him at #1. if the kings select him at #2, he'll be a rubio level bust/disappointment. the guy needs to go to the right team to be considered a success.

I too think that during the euroleague final-four Doncic was really out of shape and this ultimately affected his play. Hence the question regarding his athleticism arouse. Once he gets the right stamina, muscle-fat ratio, etc. we will see a more nimble version of him.

That is already being said. Look at the guys that get the most minutes in the league. You probably won't find more than a single top 10 team that has more than 1 guy in their main rotation that can't hit 3s better than 33%.

There are 100 guys in the league that play significant NBA minutes (>24 mpg) at any position. Of those 100, only 20 can't hit a 3 better than 33%. Of those 20, only these 6 guys made it out of the first round.
Word is that KP could have been had for the 4th pick last year, but KP was skeptical of coming to Phx. This was during his mini spat with the Knicks and Phil, I believe. Do you think he's available this year after tearing his ACL and most likely missing the entire year? Would you even try to go after him? Would he have a change of heart if the Suns drafted Luka? Would the Suns want to wait a year for him to come back, and what would the asking price be?

Late to the party but I have been celebrating ever since! Can't believe we got the number 1 pick! First time I've had hope as a Suns fan in a long time. I'd prefer Doncic but I won't be upset if it's Ayton.
Doncic- I love his feel for the game and just see him as a way more athletic Nash. I like his motor and that he wins. He knows the pick and roll game already. I see his ceiling as slightly lower than Ayton but his chance of failure, I think, is much lower than Ayton. He's like a taller J-Will. Never draft for need but we NEED both a PG and a big guy so I think that is moot.
Ayton- I love his length, athleticism and potential. I think he could be a Embiid Durant hybrid, whatever that may be. I think there's alot of "If's" with him right now. I haven't seen a great motor. Almost exactly how Drummond played in college so he could turn it on at the next level. I think he has the potential to be great but there's a risk he's Anthony Bennett. He didn't dominate like I expected him to at Arizona.
